Professional Beauty North - who's going?

The geek meet at 4pm is an ideal place to meet, and there are lots of seats, so pre-book one in advance!!!!!!!

When we had the last geek meet at PB Excel, we spent the first 10 minutes just trying to work out who is who! It is great to put faces to names, both geek names and real names. :hug: Kirsty is great and spent ages explaining all the tricks on the site and welcoming some newbies.

I will speak to Kirsty about organising a mini quiz, nothing to technical, mayby anagrams or something simple, and i will organise a prize, anyone up for that?

Its also a great to get an early seat for the competition awards that follow Kirstys geek meet and look at some of the models nails.

I will be there, i will put a big bar of chocolate on my head so you know who i am. (Thats if i havent eaten it first!)

Oh by the way, the comp room and nail forums are both upstairs.

I'm definitely going but when I registered I was a student but now I'm qualified.. eeeek!! I've emailed pro beauty to ask if my registration can be changed. I'd rather not go in my college togs... they are ghastly.

As soon as I can get this sorted I'll be registering for a few of the forums, especially the geek meet. Need to save some serious dosh and make my wish list too. <--- (excited geek)

I'm fairly sure you can bring a friend. I hauled my other half along to it last year. I think you just need to register for two tickets. I also think I had him down as an 'assistant' or something (you had to state your job titles). Anyhoo... it was quite funny watching all the sales peeps completely losing interest in him when they read 'assistant' (or some other lowly title!) on his name badge! :lol:

They are being uber strict this year on industry only peeps allowed in from what i have been told so best bring a fellow beauty/nail bod instead of a civvy, they'd be bored anyways. :biggrin:

I am going again this year. Last year wanted to take my mum with me as she was visiting me and I didn`t want to leave her home alone "never know what she will get up to" lol. I rang and explained my situation and asked if she would be able to get in they told me to go back to the beauty north site and just register my mum on my details as a guest. They were very helpful. (just in case you dont have a ticket for hubbie it will save you waiting around at the registration desk.) x

I first planned on going, then I planned not to go and now, I am going to book my flights in the afternoon! I have been totally uninspired since Nailympics. I don't know why, but I can now feel the inspiration coming back. I haven't practicing for the competition, so I do it just for fun. I even haven't found a model yet! BUT I WILL do it, because I need the practicing in competition. Stupid, but fun! :-D

Soooo.... Where are we going to meet up? Not the stupid place I didn't find last year...:-D Anywhere else?

The Geek Meet will be in the Nail Forum on the 1st floor where the competition is. It should be sign posted but in case you miss the signs go into the foyer on the about midway on right of the showfloor and go upstairs.

Cec you will be up there anyway as you will be competing. Just ask me or Rachel on the day and we'll tell you where to go.

We are so looking forward to the comps and the forum and personally I can't wait to see Greg Salo. yippeeee!!!! Me and Rachel will be fighting over who goes to that one! The others will be wonderful too but I just luuurve watching him work.

Am I right in thinking that the Geek Meet is only on Sunday? Unfortunately I can only make it on Monday as the friend I am going with is away on hols until then. I don't think I can persuade hubby to look after the kids on both days, and the price of petrol

Yay! I'm so excited I'm telling everyone I know - and then they look at me like I'm insane because to them I suppose it's not important. So glad I can come on this forum and talk to people who speak nail language!
