Maybe I didn't explain clearly enough that it's scrubfresh on the brisa finishing gloss that we shouldn't do, we were told that when doing this it took some of the shine away.
It's not brisa in general that you shouldn't use scrubfresh on. So ofcourse brisa and scrubfresh is fine, it's just finishing gloss I was taught to remove the stickey layer on with Solar oil instead of scrubfresh...

How strange that it should be taught so differently in your country, particularly as the Scrubfresh doesn't affect the shine at all:confused:

yep I'm quite confused now... I attended quite a few classes as I worked with the educator and helped out on the classes. I still remember when she got home from bootcamp and told us, as this was new to her aswell....

PM me and i will send you the official report on IBD vs. Brisa
We are an information and education site. I personally wouldn't give any credibility to information that is only passed privately as it is seen as a way to avoid public scrutiny.

As to the ScrubFresh thing... It can be used (and should be) for removal of the inhibition layer. It wouldn't affect Finishing Gloss or other Brisa products unless you were saturating the hell out of the nail with it. In that instance, any solvent would :)

HTHs!

Thanks for the info guys!! I was removing the excess gel with scrubfresh, but I'll try applying the top coat a little bit thicker next time and then seeing how I go. But like I said, after the client washed her hands the gloss came up fine. :)

i also use brisa and really do love the product it is so nice to work with!! ALTHOUGH i also find the top coat to have very little shine, so i use envogue top coat and double cure it!!! it is SOOO shiney!! plus its cheaper!! ( just a little bonus) and easier and smoother to apply! hope that helped!

I just had a little thought...are you using a new lintfree pad for wiping after your topgloss? If you are, great! If you're not, give it a try as this makes the world of difference.

I just find it strange that after your client washed her hands, it was shinier. It makes me think maybe you're not removing the inhibition layer completely. :)

HTH

I have always removed the dust and then used a little scrubfresh to ensure there are no oils on the nail and then top glossed with no problem at all....the only time i have had dips or patches is when i have applied to thin
I used to do this to but at the Event Amanda said not to use scrubfresh before applying the topcoat and ever since then I have never had any dipping.

If that works for you then great :) I have always used a little scrubfresh and never had any problems.

This sounds to me like the inhibition layer (sticky layer) wasn't fully removed...if you wipe it off with a pad, that layer is now on the pad....so if you use the same pad to wipe the next nail it wont be removing it...it will leave a trace and cause dulling...thats why when your client washed her hands they came up shiny.

Sorry guys i've been told that i shouldn't pm the report, i don't want to seem like i am starting a problem as everyone has got a right to there own opinion.

My personal opinion is that a good nail tech is good no matter what product they use.

I only wanted to help a girl that used IBD as i am trained in IBD and she was comparing it to Brisa & as we have proformed this test , i wanted to give her our opinion!!!
Sorry

I'll have to look into that! Thanks.

I thought of that too, so I was very pedantic when removing the inhibition layer after the infills and it did help.

I have never had a problem with shine, i use scrubfresh before & after the top coat, and they shine like glass.....

I was taught this way last year x
