It is sad when nail & beauty businesses close down, luckily it is very rare that any beauty salons close in my area but I imagine lots of mobile therapists come and go.

When I first went mobile I had my business plan and on paper it looked great, even if I had a bad week id of still been ok only I didn't envision a bad week as being no clients at all !! When I first went to see my business advisor and told him I was going to be a mobile therapist he said he didn't think it would work and he was right

Once I realised it was a bad idea (after about 6 very long months) I started renting a room and haven't looked back, its getting busier and busier and it is so much easier to get clients than being mobile.

If I hadn't gone into a salon I think id of had to stop being mobile pretty quickly otherwise id of been living of bread and water !

yes I agree bombini. I tried mobile and only had a few clients on the books. I then went freelance and became a therapist-for-hire for talks, demos, promotions, etc.

Luckily, I also been on the books for the local colleges too so get a bit of teaching, sometimes 10 hours a week.

It was only until I went into premises that I realised that that was for me. To begin with, I was working with other therapists, but now rent at 2 venues in my own right (guru holistics).
