Hey all.

I'm 2 years into business and doing well.
I like to start people at the bottom and get them to work their way up in the salon with both hair and beauty.
My question is when a stylist or therapist is building a client base, and starts with a few clients a week, how do I operate their targets fair while pushing them to make money and strive for a high retention rate?

When I was in salon I would earn 10% once I reached 3x my wages. Is this the average?

Also how many products do you ask each stylist to sell, and what can I use as retail for beauty. We only do lashes/ nails/waxing.

Thank you all [emoji8]

Yes, about three times the wage then 10% is about right. It doesn’t kick in immediately, but gives them something to work towards.
As far as retail goes, varnishes, nail care products, oils etc, eye make up remover, mascara/lash conditioner, post and pre wax products (for exfoliation, ingrowns etc). And then maybe candles. I’m not big on salons selling any bit of tat they can get their hands on, but candles are pretty good.
