Hi guys

I've had a new client contact me who would like Shellac applying over her acrylic nails for holiday.
I don't do acrylics myself so she will be having them applied else where in the morning then coming to me, is there anything else I need to do any differently such as buffing the surface of the acrylic before Shellac or can I just scrub fresh and carry on as normal?

Thanks in advance :) x

I lightly buff, no base coat and carry on as normal.

The only issue I would bear in mind is whether she is coming back to you for removal. Soaking off you'd have to remove the acrylic aswell and as it's someone elses work you have no idea what has been used. I'd just buff of the shellac, apply a top coat to the acrylics, if she wants them removing she can go to whoever applied them.

Thank you Sammi :) I'll let her know she will need to go back to the original place for removal.

Does the shellac tend to last for the same length of time over acrylics?

Fab thank you!

Fab thank you!
Hi there! I still apply a base coat over the acrylics after buffing and we noticed a few would peel - I will leave with you for try x
