I re-joined SW this morning too MM! :D.

Yay! How much do you need to lose?

I'm doing this for my Nice, France holiday in August so definitely do-able. If I stick to it this time. :o

I agree the meetings kill me! Stayed for the first but won't be staying to many- 2 hours I was there, husband had to put all the kids to bed mwahahahaa!

They spend too much time focusing on who lost/gained what. Not really learning anything from that.

Leader: "Susan lost 2 pounds this week, everyone give Susan a clap"
"So how did you lose 2 pounds Susan?"

Susan: "I stuck to the plan but had a Chinese and a bottle of wine at the weekend".

And on and on and on it goes until she's drivelled the same crap to 30 women. I felt like screaming. I don't give a rats arse about Susan, I don't know her.

There should be a bit of education going on, telling us about new food products on the market, how to incorporate them in our diets and ways to keep motivated.

I've changed venue and leader since last time but its still the same. Years ago I went to WW and the meetings were much more informative, I use to enjoy staying at them.

That's what put me off SW, MM. The lady running the group looked a mess too.
We had one evening to bring in food that we had cooked ourselves for others to try, so I took in some fat free, roasted vegetable soup and a low calorie swiss muesli. But no one wanted to try it, they all went for "Weetabix cake", like a cake but not a cake or some kind of carrot cake that wasn't like a cake at all.
Jeez, it's eating cake that got you here in the first place!, I wanted to cry!!

I couldn't stand the meetings at Slimming World. Love my Weight Watchers meetings though; lost 6lb today but that's my first weigh in since the 15th Jan. Now have lost 6st 8.5lb only 11lb to go :)

1 1/2 stone! I put 1/2 on during my hols:(

Well I've re-joined SW and re-joined this thread. Hope you don't mind. In the time I've had off SW, 3 or 4 months I think, I've gained 4.5lb. I actually thought it would have been a lot more. So here goes.......again!

I really can't stand the meetings. I had to sit through an hour and a half this morning of listening to what everyone had lost and gained. Bored out of my brain. But I had to stay cos she was weighing me at the end. Next week I'll just get weighed. Throwing my life away!

Target: Lose 3.5 stone.

Our consultant doesn't do that - they're supposed to so she just does it if the boss is in. Instead she talks about recipes, body image, exercise, all sorts of things to keep it interesting and motivational.

That sounds much better, I would like more info on what I can eat too, what's free etc. not listening to beryl moaning because she has been coming for 3 years, has lost 1 pound overall and is struggling to understand the difference between a red day and a green day!!
This seriously happened!!

I know exactly what you're saying. Its when you get the ones who gain but have no idea cos they only had that bit of cake. And a small bag of chips. And just a few peanuts. And a few glasses of wine. And don't measure milk and drink at least twice the allowance. And have cheese. But can't understand why they've gained lol.

I doubt very much I've lost anything. :Scared: I haven't been especially good. I'm constantly hungry and can't get myself in the "zone". I'm also going to get my hand slapped for not filling out my diary. It's that time of the month so probably the worst time to join when all I want to do is stuff myself with sugar. I'll let you know tomorrow. Good luck Tonicj. How do you think you've done?

Sallyyummymummy, you've done so well! You must be really proud. What a great amount of weight you've lost overall. When did you start?

Have been good MM. My problem is fruit. Last time I was in SW I followed it 100% and at my first weigh in I lost nothing!!! I was so disappointed as those that joined on the same day were losing 4 and 5 Lbs! The consultant had a good look at my diary and said that maybe I should eat less of the fruit. I substituted the fruit for veg the whole of the following week and lost 7Lbs!! This week I have been eating a little fruit, mainly berries and have had a couple of mandarin oranges, so I am really hoping it hasn't caused problems for me. I will let you know either way. Hope I'm smiling though! Hope you get yourself into the "zone" next week!

There's a lamb rogan josh recipe in this months magazine which I'm making in the slow cooker tomorrow. It's going to be for tea Thurs night when the other half comes home.

Does anyone have any favourite SW recipes?

My weigh in is tomorrow as well, know how you're feeling Mobile Manicure I'm starving constantly :( x

Iv fallen off, I haven't been for 3 weeks now! I found myself struggling and decided to stop paying someone to tell me I have put weight on. I thought I would take a few weeks off and go back eventually, I am still cooking the meals but having the odd biscuit!
