Oh Laura that sounds so stressful, inside I bet you were swearing and cussing, I would've been.... But the thing is, you got through it and no doubt there are things you can take from it and maybe do differently next time .

The nail trainer is a fab practice hand, it fixes onto your table and is jointed just like a real hand so you can't pull it into awkward positions. I sold mine on eBay for about a third of what I bought it for so that's probably the best place to look. X

Hi everyone OMG had my very first client tonight and OMG did it all go WRONG! i feel to give up now! :(:(:(
I felt the same about giving up , but from great advice from salon geeks I pushed myself to carry on . I completely understand about shaking hands it's horrible and the more you try not to shake you do . I decided to offer lower prices to a few people to start off with and explain I am newly qualified and this is a whole new thing for me . They do understand and two complete strangers are coming back to me . So keep going and alongs you are honest they are fine . Sucking a sweet did help me , it doesn't look professional I know but I said ' I have a sore throat do you mind if I have a sweet , would you like one ' It might sound weird but it helped . Honestly I really know what you are feeling but keep going start off with a couple of people them slowly expand as you gain confidence.

I bought my hand off eBay and it came with spare tips. I don't know if it can be used with gel but I can't see why not. You could buy colour pops to practise on maybe :)

I know how you feel Laura! I had a client yesterday who had acrylic on from an express nail bar (she didn't tell me this before I arrived) it took me an hour and a half just to get the acrylic off without damaging her nails. It took me 3 hours to take off and reapply and I felt like crying when I got home lol. Never again!

U can buy them from essential nails I think,Iv got one and it's brilliant! U can do pretty much anything on it regarding your tips, forms, acrylic, polish, gels etc but whilst doing my course it said to use the nail trainer glue and primer (primer was due to the plastic and rubber)
Not quite sure why they advise the nail trainer glue for tips though! X

I got my nail trainer from essential nails and if I'm being honest I've used it once and found it a nightmare...
