I've not worked in a salon with proper green anti oxy since being an apprentice.

I know it stops oxidisation and balances pH. But I was told most colour conditioners do that anyway. Is it worth getting it?

I alway used to use the anti oxy after bleaching and before toning, but now with olaplex i just rinse the bleach, tone, rinse the toner, add no. 2, then shampoo and use anti oxy. I was very sceptical about doing it this way, but I have had no problems whatsoever. However, i find if I'm using a cream bleach like blondor cream, i must shampoo before toning, as rinsing just leaves too much residue.

Yess! You need to end one service before you can start another.

Tsparkler, I've been worried about the toning straight after rinsing the bleach with Olaplex so I've been rinsing, number 2, tone, shampoo and condition/ treatment. I'm going to be brave next time!!

I've never heard of using anti oxy.
Here we just tone straight after bleaching/shampooing

I'm with you I've never heard of using anti oxy, what do you do that what happens if you don't I've never noticed anything happening without using it x

Sugarplumbfaery I was worried to ,but did it that way on mine and normally toners are out of my hair 2-3 washes I had to use remover to get it out, I also thought as your putting toner over damaged hair you couldnt be sure it would cover properly but it did, i did also put a couple of ml of no 1 in the toner because I knew it would be on for at least 10 mins,

Anti-oxy returns the hair post Colour to its correct ph, neutralizes so that no further oxidation will occur due to colour in the hair. It's especially great when toning after using bleach. You know sometimes you'll see a purple patch when toning? That's a bit of oxidation still present so the tone won't be as clean and even.

Do any brands do an anti oxy conditioner?
Where I trained used the cheapo stuff which smelt bad?

I use Fudge and L'Oreal at the back wash. I'm sure neither of those have anti oxys?

Tori I was told same as you about colour conditioners ! Haven't found any decent anti oxys in our local sallys or a+f it's always the nasty cheap stuff lol

I only use Wella. I've recently bought a post-Colour treatment from Blondirae but they've been unable to supply with decent information on its regards as an anti-oxy. I'll keep you posted.

Do it! I was so apprehensive the first time. Wait untill you use it with illumina to tone! I like to use it in the gloss treatment. That way i can add the olaplex and not worry about having to rinse it off too soon. I hope I'm making sense?

Omg! What a brill idea!

This has been fab to read! Im a level 2 too and am researching toners now as I didn't cover it much in the salon i trained in

Always use post , then tone , brilliant x

When I'm trying to remove any warm tones from light hair I almost always use Matrix SPA mixed with SPV, I mix this with a colour release peroxide and apply to the hair and leave for 15-45 minutes depending on how ashy you want it! It works amazingly every time! Hope his helps
