Would it be benifical if there was at least one Mod with a backround reflective of each category type?

After re reading (!!!) I think this has been aswered on several occassions, and great depth.
However this is getting repative so shall leave you to it chuck. Hope you get the answers you were looking for........:hug:

OK we may all be missing the point that Collin was trying to make in his first post - however I for one make a judgement call based on the title of a thread and the title of this one clearly states

ARE THE MODS UP TO DO THE JOB FULLY

So to me you are saying that we are not up to doing the job - maybe the first post says it in a different way but the title is what lots of people have jumped on.

A lesson needs to be learned here that we need to think more carefully about how we title our threads.

The only thing which comes to mind which would point to the mods not being fully conversant with all things skinny or hairy would be the little subtle jokes which we might not understand. But hey is that really so bad, does that really make us not up to the job.

We get rid of the trolls and stop the bullies and keep the site as free of sly advertising as much as we possibly can.

Thanks for that "chuck".

This is a question about what your (geeks)views are on the subject matter...not a debate about my opinion..which hasn't actually been stated :eek:

I am sure that those that have responded thus far may have more than adequatley put their views forward...but there may just be one or to more yet to come..

As with any good TPT.:hug::hug:

I think the main man knows a little about hair too so I guess we're pretty much covered.:hug:
AND MY OPINION (IN CAPITALS) IS THAT THIS SITE HAS A GREAT MODERATING SYSTEM.
Have you visited sites that don't?
Give it a try....you'll be shocked tbh.:eek::eek::eek:

I do think that if you read the initial posting that the title was /is mearly the "hook" and says such in the text that follows:hug:

The long term future would seem to be one which has a huge diverse range of topic which follows the trends of the time..and in so doing may attract many speciolist rofessionals who are willing to offer their expertese in helping those that ask of it.

Very much in the way when this site first broadend its topic of discussion from simply nails to include many more.

Who knows topics such as houlistic theropy may just become the "new craze" or it could be designer hang on glittery things for midgets or stick "this on your big toe and you too can be a new woman" kind of thing.

Given the ability for the initial change to come about through the forward thinking of the site owners the "sky is the limit" as to where we go from here.

Maybe a TPT into the future isnt such a bad thing after all.??

Are there flights to your place Sandi from Aberdeen..and is it wraped yet???

Maybe you should go and get them then to post their views and we can put this one to bed!

I cant see the point in this because there are professional members who can post answers to most questions in each category on the site.

Would this perhaps make the sectors that are the weaker group on the site (i.E. holistics,hair,skin) more incline to get involved as they would feel they have someone in the background with experiance within their specific field or wouldn't it realy make any difference.

The reason why the others sections are not as strong is the time they have been running I mean the site was started as a nail site and as only been the salon geek for a short time so needs time to grow.

The mods we have are really just there to make sure things are posted in the right sections and the site rules are followed, Samuel chooses them and they were just normal site members who he picked.

For more expertise and questions directed to those with more experience then We have many many members who are not mods but who are educators or just very high in there field who do a fab job at helping and answering threads :)

Come on Collin... spill your guts :D

Like one and all of course I do have my own opinion...however it is the opinion of fellow geeks that was being asked :hug:

Surely, you can't think that it's right to ask everyone else's opinion and not give you own???

I've thought about this and I really don't see the need for more mods. They seem to manage the all of the forums exactly the same and very well, so there's no need for someone new.

Its hardly "Thought Provoking" though is it really?! lol.
Theres not much room for debate or discussion when everyone has the same opinion and the subject in question has no obvious flaws to point out.

way to go Kim...a strait forward answer to a strait forward question :hug:

Any further constructive opinion would be most welcome :hug:

aww Collin...most of the other replies pretty much said the exact same...:confused:

So far no-one thinks that we need mods for certain forums.....its no biggy. We cant always have popular threads...admit defeat :lol::lol::lol:

:zzz::zzz::zzz:

Just one question ... where does one get the nerve to join this site ... stay on it day and night and USE it so that any thread or post relating to tanning is pounced on immediately and private messages sent to hook the poster in ... USES it to grow their own database of clients ... and then has the unmitigated cheek to ask about the moderation?? To question the running of the largest and most used and respected website for beauty professionals in the world? Who the hell?

If it was a teeny tiny forum then maybe mods who specialise in certain fields would be beneficial as there wouldn't be such a huge base of other professionals to answer questions and try and keep the information given as correct as possible. As it is though I really don't think it would benefit anything for this forum, we have enough of a broad base of knowledge to ensure questions get answered and enough members who spot misinformation and correct it as a topic progresses.

I have to say your in topic question was not quite what the title implies. I'm not sure I agree with posting questions with an intentionally misleading and possibly inflammatory title to lure Geeks in.

:hug::hug:

By the way Sandi, what competition?

.....

By the way Sandi, what competition?

I have a plan... how about we have a 'little competition'?

We all do our best to write a thought provoking thread this week that's salon/work/business/professional related, put TPTW in front of the title.
I'll ask the other mods to help me pick 10 of them and let everyone vote for their favourite and most thought provoking one... and the winner will receive a little gift from me (don't get your hopes up too high lol)

Shall we just GO FOR IT???

From this thread:

I AM ASKING YOUR OPINION PLEASE...
come on dont be guttless or sit on the fence...........share your wordly wise opinion....i am sure if i started a poll...on who wants to know collins opinion about this..there would be far more replies than this thread............
