There are many "inapropriate" statments being made on this thread by some that should know better.

As a consequence it would be fair to say that the opinion I held prior to these comments has now moved considerably away from my initial thoughts on this subject matter.:wink2:

i can not see any inappropriate opinions being made in this thread.....opinions where asked for opinions you got (sadly not yours its seems) you can not start a thread asking for opinions and then nit pick at what kind of opinion you want, appropriate, non appropriate, opinions are opinions be them appropriate or not...you cant pick or choose i am afraid.
as for your opinion that you held prior to these appropriate or non appropriate opinions...you nether shared or was willing to share these...and now that your opinion has moved away from your initial opinion....do you care to share what it is now.

personally i cannot see what the big problem is with you in withholding your opinion unless that opinion would cause another debate...i do not know what your motives are at all.....you highly confuse me and i am sure others with your intentions in starting this thread

This thread is would have been started (or not) in a completly different manner if it was I that wanted to shout my opinion...

No one is being pressured by the posting to offer their opinion unless they so choose to do so...if you have no opinion on the subject matter simply move on to a posting where you may have.

The only individule I see here that is being pressured into opinion is myself...which is completly inapropriate.

Of course Joanne should you so choose to make a posting of your choice than it is entirley up to you as to weather or not you would respond to your own posting by offering your opinion on the subject matter and im sure you would not wish to be pressured into doing so.

When making postings I dont see that it is "normal" or a criteria to answer your own question if it is opinion of others that you seek.

That makes some sense....but is it not common curtesy.... As the opening poster and thread starter?

Of course you can ask a question that you would then like an opinion on and not give your own thoughts on the matter....

but if you were then asked for your opinion....is it not just manners or even forum etiquette that you reply with your opinion?

I think this thread has now run its course.

The upshot of it is that the site is run the way that Sam wants it to be run and if you dont agree with it then the suggestion might be that you dont use it.

Why is it that some people seem to want to rock the apple cart - this is the second time in recent times that someone has posted a thread which has caused so much trouble for the moderators.

Thank you all for your support but I think enough is enough!
