hi all I'm having some trouble with ladies nails lifting only a couple of days after infills..it's getting embarrassing now. When I put a set on there's minimal lifting two weeks later if any, yet I do an infill and they lift :( can anyone explain why please?
I push back cuticles, file gel colour off (all of my clients have gel polish on top), file the bit of acrylic off that needs to go around the cuticle, reshape etc, apply superbond on natural nail and carry on with infill. Am I missing something?

Are you thoroughly removing any cuticle from the regrowth then buffing, dehydrating etc like you do with a new set?

Is any acrylic touching the cuticle on application? Have you removed any dead skin with a cuticle pusher?

Harsh filing can cause micro fissures in the old product which can lead to lifting so check your filing techniques. Make sure that the old product is blended fully to the nail plate. All cuticle is removed, and the nail plate dehydrated, cleansed and shine removed. Keep your application of new product thin in zone 3' but ensure you are replacing the apex each time, if you don't this can put stress on the cuticle area resulting in lifting.

I do remove the dead skin and buff natural nail, I'm quite careful to not touch the skin with new product. I think it may be that I'm not filing enough away to make it totally flush. I file it down then nip lifted bits away and file again to make it flush but I don't think I'm doing it well enough. To be totally honest I think after I've filed all the gel off I Try and speed up so that must be where I'm going wrong :( do any of you have a different method of removing the gel on top? I know you can't soak as it will weaken the acrylic xx thank you for all of your replies :)

First you need to put the nippers away! Sure fire way of getting lifting as your breaking the old product. You're literally pulling the product away from the nail plate when you slide the blade of the nippers underneath. I will happily put money on this being the cause of your problems.

Ah no way that makes total sense! I was taught to do that too :/ I have a few infills this week so I'll let you know how I get on.. Thanks for that :)
