Ask friends and family if they have any way to advertise for you.
My mum works in a police station and was in charge of the staff notice boards. When I was mobile she put up my flyers and offers each month. I got a lot of custom from that as if they had any questions she could help them out there and then or pass them straight onto me.
I also made a simple but effective flyer and all my family put one on their car boot window

Still quite pricey but if willing to pay, the adverts at bus stops (since we are on the subject of buses) might work well. I know when I enquired through clear channel they were around £250 a month. depending on location of course.
