UV lamps - the dangers?

Hi all

I've just been on Facebook and have seen a post being shared of a woman who has had melenoma in her thumb nail which has been caused through uv exposure during gel polish appointments. Has anyone heard of this before and what are the risks? Is the led lamp any better for health? Are there steps we can take to protect clients more?

Thanks for the replies. I don't know if it's true or not (I believe it to be false now) but I'm concerned that if clients believe it to be true then they will no longer have it done.

The best way is to educate your clients, if they are concerned and would choose a normal polish due to their concerns, you need to tell and show them the facts.
