Hiya, just wondered if anyone knows how to make vodka jellies?? We had this great idea to have them at our engagement party...then realised niether us know how to make them!!!:smack: Helllllp !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about a VODKA MELON,

get a water melon about a week or so before the party pierce a hole in it with a cork screw, leave in the fridge, and every day just keep topping it up with vodka, do this for about a week but make sure u keep it in the fridge so it doesnt go off, cut it open just before it due to go out and it will be fresh. (and strong) the vodka soaks into the melon so it is leathel, and very tasty. trust me u dont realise how mush oneof them things can hold,

HTH

vodka melons are great...use the syringes you get to give littlies medicine to put the vodka in.....forgot about vodka melons agent

Somebody told me that the correct way to make a vodka melon was to ram a funnel into the melon and fill it with vodka. The idea was that overnight, or maybe over a couple of days (depending on the size of your melon/funnel), and the vodka would absorb into th melon.

I ended up with the most ridiculous, precariously balanced melon-funnel creation in my fridge for about a week, looking like a Blue-Peter project gone wrong, and not a drop of vodka was absorbed. Grr.

Personally, I don't blame my melon-spiking technique- I wholeheartedly believe that I discovered the world's only non-porous melon.

WOW, vodka melon, that's definately something i will try!!!
About those plastic shot glasses, they are a bit expensive, i usually buy them at 37€ for 800 at a local hotelary store.

Another idea is to use:

malibu and pineapple jelly or

Archers and orange jelly,

it's soooooo yummy!!!!!!!!!!! it's worth experimenting before hand.
I'd personally do it in a big bowl then scoop some out and put into the shot glasses as the jelly is so hard to get out once set and avoid the ice cube bags (it didn't work at all for me!! lol)

Good Luck!!!!

Oh dear, you have just reminded me of when we made these at university! I remember i make a blackcurrant jelly and put red wine it in!! It seemed to go down well!!
