That was a popular lunch in Holland when I was a child, rich dark sugar, either that or chocolate sprinkles.

I just discovered a dutch online food shop here and was thinking I would introduce my boys to that treat, not very 'correct' these days but yum!!

Well talking of disgusting treats (and hoping not to go off topic to much) which hit the high street this story is disgusting and spreading across Scotland right now....

I think it all started in a fish and chip shop in Glasgow..someone had the bright idea of battering a mars bar and deep fat frying it ..probably as a joke.....turns out(apparently) that it tastes yummy and is spreading across the country like wildfire.

i was watching "globe trekker" the other week where they visited the UK and when in Scotland the presenter went to a chippy in Glasgow and tried one...she ,rather surprisingly, liked it

That has been going on for years, Stuart used to go on and on about it. It make me feel ill just thinking about it!

Well I shall never forget something I did because my dad slapped the back of my legs for it ( the only time in my life I had a smack off him )

But here goes, When I was about 5 or 6, we had a big garden and dogs, anyway I remember picking up a dog poo on a teaspoon ( it was all hard and white lol ), and feeding it to my sister who was a year younger than me, how gross, she was a mug to let me do it though . We do get on well now:).

and I used to have snail races, under the dustbin lid, and guess what ? the losers used to be gauged out of their shells eiwwww

My youngest sister used to eat dried clumps of mud :)

And my son eats mars bars wrapped in cheese slices, my bloke used to eat wagon whell and salaad cream sandwiches

We used to have sugar butties too... something else i used to have was after mum had cooked the sunday chicken, I used to soak up the fat with bread and eat it!!! heart attack here I come.

when I was about 6 I used to chew the bottom of my hair.... yeuch!!!

I'd keel over, I'm big as it is and not fit  My Mum tells stories of doing much the same with the fat from meat roasts as a child. They couldn't afford to waste anything so every bit was made to count.

I can't remember what I used to do but I can remember what one of my children used to do.

This child of mine liked to (supposedly) make 'perfume'. So jam jars would be lined up and filled with water and then in would go flower petals, worms, bugs of every description, dirt etc etc and then they were left, until the bottles were a morass of disgusting decaying filth which I would later find and have to empty out and throw away!! Ugh! Gross!

I once thought it would be a good idea to "sharpen" my fingers in a pencil sharpener!

 this is what my daughter does, but she thinks shes creating a little home for them, as she wants them as pets, then leaves them to fester eiwww, I do try and stop her !!:) she once bought home a snail in her book bag from school, she must of put it in her pocket 1st? to get it in the class, she is only 8 now:)

I'd completely forgotten that my friend and I used to do that!:green: We also added shampoo, bubble bath and anything else we could find in the bathroom.
Another thing we did was wet toilet paper and throw it up to the ceiling so it would stick. After a day or so it would dry and become almost impossible to remove. Happy days!

I can just imagine S2 selling "EAU DE WILDLIFE" :green:

All my habits are bad, child or adult.....

But I will bring my sister undone ..... she used to bite her toenails, she's not so flexible now at 46:eek:

I used to eat wax crayons at primary school couldnt get enough of them, and the rubbers on the end on pencils gross!!!
I also used to eat golden syrup sarnies and yorkies smothered in the stuff YUM YUM!
Iceberg lettuce sprinkled with sugar was another one. My god the crap I used to eat as a kid its suprising I made it to 33.
Bev I also did the chewing gum thing once or twice now that is gross but at least we are not alone lol.
I also remember when I was really little that this girl whos garden backed onto ours once passed me some cat poo through the fence and told me it was chocolate my mum came out just in time to see me take a bite and whacked it out of my hand. Makes me wanna puke just thinking about it....what a bi..h
I found a siamese kitten when I was about 7 or 8 years old near the flats round the corner from my house, I thought it was lost so picked it up to take it home and it pooed all over me with fright not just once but twice! I had to walk home covered in warm wet smelly cat diarrhea. Disgusting I was bawling my eyes out by the time I got home and my mum gave me a right telling off.
My mum also told me once about when she was a child about 5 years old her and a friend were sitting on a wall blowing up balloons that they had found on the street. This friends brother came along and smacked them both and gave them a good telling off and told them how disgusting they were.
They couldnt work out what he meant as they were just balloons???? They weren't balloons they were blowing up they were used condoms.... My mum is 68 now and still remembers that day clear as a bell and also wants to vomit when she thinks about it. Bless her...
Jen xx

To the horror and disgust of my mum I had a long fad on eating Strawberry Jam & Beetroot butties and lemon curd & sandwich spread  if you think of it as just sweet and sour . I do still love jam, lemon curd & beetroot (but gone off sandwich spread) just not together.

Not really a nasty habit, but i used to share a bedroom with my 6 years older sister and always used to want to read on my bed when she obviously wanted to have a snog with her boyfriend:)

I used to love eating marmite and peanut butter sandwiches (yep, both together) but used to squish them all up in my fingers before eating them ... eww, what a delightful child I was, NOT!

Ooooooohhh.... blimey charlie! Made me cringe when I read that! The things we did when we were little.

I 'found' a five pound note in my sisters drawer in our bedroom when I was very little. Promptly took it to the little cabin shop on our estate and bought a game with it. Didn't have a clue that I'd done anything wrong at all! Mum took it back and got the money back.. bed with no tea that night.

I used to make perfume too out of rose petals and water... hmmmm... beautiful

you are all an interesting bunch of geeks :green: I think the worst thing I used to do was to buy ready salted crisps and then drench them in vinegar...why I didn't just buy salt n vinegar in the first place I don 't know. I have to admit when I got to the bottom of the bag they weren't so nice but I ate them all the same

I used to bite my nails so badly when I was a child (still like a little nibble now I have to admit). I used to bite them right down until I couldn't get even get a little bit to nibble and they were all sore. My sister and I had twin beds next to each other and one night, when I was trying to get to sleep, I decided because I couldn't get any nail on my own fingers to bite, I'd try hers as she was already asleep. I had a little nibble, but I was very disappointed as it was nowhere near as good as biting my own. I didn't bother doing it again.

I used to pick my nose and eat it!!! I saw someone doing it in their car the other day and it nearly made me sick!
