My sisters shellac has even on her toes since she went to Ibiza in September lol! Only left on her big toes as the little ones have all grown out. The big toes just look like blue glittery French now lol! When I see her next ill pop a picture on! Xxxx

Lovely Toni, is that gold studs or a patterned striping tape on the black nail?

Thank you  they're individual gold studs, photo isn't particularly clear sorry! x

I've clearly missed something :-/ can someone pm me about whether you can or can't mix colours please? I don't want to start a debate on here lol so if someone could pm me, that would be fab thanks xxx

I always thought you could mix colours too??? :-/

The chemical make up of each shade is individual to each shade. Therefore, CND stipulate that you can not mix the colours to create new ones, only layer.

I use water based acrylic artist paints for a lot of my nail art as you CAN mix them and they are so cheap to use

JoJo I'm only quoting you as you are visible on this page and its referencing what I went and looked for.

Here is a link from the Shellac Lovers group about mixing colours. Its also what a Shellac EA told me when I asked a few months back. Hopefully this clarifies matters and puts the subject to bed so to speak xx

That's a great link min thanks .

I'd say that is in regards to mixing colours for full nail application it's unlikely to be an issue if just a couple of drops are mixed for a bit of nail art....

It was a leaf! A blimmin tiny little leaf! We're not divs who are going to start mixing midnight swim and Hollywood to make purple.

Look, I think its time this was left. The information is there in black and white and its up to everyone how they use what they read and to take on any possible service breakdown or maybe over exposure of possibly under cured product through the other layers no matter how small. If I client has a reaction and you have mixed colours against recommendations the end result is yours to deal with, and the clients.

As I said, time to move on before the topic is closed.

Just my opinions of course xxx

A newbie reading that Shellac has been mixed will assume that it is ok to do that, that is my point.

As you can see by some posts, people are already confused. It goes against the manufacturers use of the product.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Ok right well, I haven't done my nails for a couple weeks, might change them tomorrow. In the mean time this is one from the summer, my own nails. Shellac Rubble with Antique Bronze additive. It was my first attempt at additives and at the time I was pretty pleased. Not so much now on looking back. Definitely could have benefited from Solar Oil before I took the picture!...Other is a French, Im not Mrs Adventurous as you can see

Thanks both! The Rubble looked much deeper in person :) Might try again with it this week for a Valentine look somehow. Nail art is way out of my comfort level so this will be something new lol. I like french manicures best for me X
