Glad the water worked ok.
WD40 only has slight lubricating qualities. It is a water displacer hence the name W(ater) D(isplacement) 40.
It will only mask any problems. It is a water repellent and can cause damage to seals/rings.
Sorry but i'm a bit of a science freak so i strongly advise anybody not to use WD 40 in their guns
