When working 50/50 commission, do you always pay half?

I am working in a salon where its 50/50 commission and i use the salons products, i have been buying my own hair extensions tools/products and still paying half to the salon owner? she has now taken on another stylist who is supplying her own products and is paying £25 a day for her chair.
I could easier do 8 lots of extension fitting in one day for £60 a head and get £480 so me and the salon owner would get £240 each yet i havnt used any products only the chair?
am i being had off somewhere here? any advise would be grateful x

You’re self employed so it’s entirely up to you what terms you can negotiate.
