What a wonderful idea! I would jump at the chance if I werent so far away! But definitely a great idea and so nice to see someone out there willing to help newly qualified tech's progress, learn and gain invaluable experience - good on ya!

Hi

I was pointed to this post by a fellow Geek as i have just posted a thread looking for what you are offering.

I qualified with CND in 08, and waxing last year. I moved abroad and would love the chance to get some experience. My family are in Cheshire and so i would love to see if we can maybe set something up.

Where in North Wales are you?

Maybe we could PM and discuss?

Monkie gems.

Well we would more than happy to consider you once we are ready to go with this idea. Its still at its early stages and we are not quite ready to go with it yet. I will though I promise let you and everyone else who has asked when we are ready. AND ill put a post and blog up too. its going to be a few months away at the moment as we are in the process of expanding to a second shop and another venture.

I think this is a lovely idea! I know a lot of girls would love an opportunity like that. But I do think a waiver form is also a good idea, and make sure that whoever you allow to come in and practice has had some sort of training/schooling.

I did this, just after I qualified I spent two weeks working in a local salon on holiday cover. I used my products and while I was there I managed three new sets and a whole heep of brakages as well as the prep for the salon owners clients rebalance. It was great experience, when I wasn't working mysel,f I got to watch the owner and her other tech work, I learned all those little things that save you time and loads about nail art as well as reflexoligy, which is what the other girl mainly did.
Oh and I was charging £1 per nail:lol:
That first set I did, the girl came in all worried asking why mine were so cheep and the owner said, because you get to sit there for three hours.
Actually I think it was three and a half:eek:
Great idea hun, go for it:hug:

my only concern would be the clients. Maybe have them sign a waiver? If the new girl tears their fingers up they can't sue? I would have loved the chance to gain in shop epierence but i think it may be a big risk if you end up with a picky client and a not so good nail tech. you may lose clients if they leave unhappy and then spread the word that you have underqualified techs working in your salon.

i do think with some tweaking that the idea is fabulous and you should definatly try to tie the loose ends and do it!

Indeed. Also you would be teaching in a since, tips and tricks are a way to teach your way of doing things. Tat is the 1st thing you need to re-word. Maybe you can say you are "teaching the real world nail biz?" But not HOW to apply nails. You need the tech coming in to know you are not here to build anything for them but skills they have learned in school to date, you are the "polish" ;)
