hi all, I have my teaching qualifications and now want to look into becoming an abt accredited school but I'll need my own manuals. surely they all say the same thing!? obviously coping others can't be done so how do you start? and where can I get the content? any advice please? thanks

When writing learning material for a course the usual way is to:

  1. Decide which exam board (or professional body) is accrediting the qualification
  2. Download a copy of their qualification syllabus - this gives you all the info on what to deliver (and standardises content across the UK)
  3. Write a 'scheme of work' - this is basically a plan of how & when you are going to deliver each part of the course, theory & practical
  4. Following your scheme, start to write your training manual in the order in which you are going to deliver the info. This way lesson one is at the start of the booklet and you work your way through to the end.

Hope that makes sense!
