Well I am glad they have removed the cost price they must have had loads of irate emails to attend to this morn, just checked my email and nothing back yet, I would like to think I received one in return. :)

I'm sure you will hun. The lady I email is just super fast at getting back to you but for some reason doesnt want to answer the question of 'can my clients now order retail products from your site?'
So have asked the question again. Let you know what she replies with xxx

Hi guys Sienna have got back to me thismorning to explain the cost of the tan has now been removed. Prices are still on there regarding solution and retail products though.
Can our customers buy off there too ? xxx

This is what I wonder to ??

Haha where'd you come from! a pop up maternity nurse! Just what I need!

Come on gal's you've moved the position of the moon in just one night and should be pleased with yourselves...so well done to you

To be fair the problem with trade sites is that it has to be made as user friendly as is possible...no manner of security measures will prevent an end user from ordering direct...how would the company know if Mrs Smith registers as a salon owner sort of thing.

In order to strive to go some way to preventing end users ordering is we have set our retail items at different prices levels.I.E. buy one @ £x+ as... well erm your not really trade or maybe you are just sampling who knows...buy two at £xx

Buy 6 and its trade...that's what a salon would buy.
Quiet simple

I AM ABSOLUTELY FUMING!!!!! To say the least!
This is the email I have received by Sienna when I asked if clients could buy retail products from their site...

Hi Kylie

Unfortunately for the time being we cannot stop people buying from our website. Having said that, our website is under construction and I there may be a different area for Therapists to buy from shortly but that has not been confirmed
Many thanks

I'm not happy at all and think this is the biggest mistake they as a company could make!

That's fair enough if you choose to go with a company that you know sells everywhere such as boots etc but i chose to start up with a company that didn't do this for this reason. You used to have to put in a password to buy on the Sienna site and suddenly they have decided to change it.

I disagree with people that say it is hard for companies to know the professional from the clients as for example, take sweet squared...to open up with them ,you need to send them you certificate to prove you are a professional. So ok it's a bit of hassle for them and us, but at least we know clients cant buy from them. So now what's the point in me retailing? xxx

In all fairness I dont think it makes any difference, when you get your hair done do you expect it to cost you the cost price of hair colour for example.....no cos you know it gets marked up to cover the stylists costs and wages! When you buy a sofa from dfs for say £1k....do you honestly believe they bought it for the same? Its how business works, its what we do with retail.....very few clients will bother to look things up and nobody does tans for £3 anywhere so you wont lose business. Even when you have to sign up for trade on most sites you just put details on and wait for a confirmation email.....that doesnt prove anything.....

It always comes down to the difference between professionals and people trying to makea quick buck, you wont suffer cos your a professional....

Hi guys, I know some of you are ok with the new Sienna changes but for those of you that are not and are wishing to complain then I have the details here for you
[email protected] or call him on 01905 27070

Apparently he is i a meeting so may take a while for him to respond

xxx

Hi guys, I recieved a phone call today from Sienna X saying they had changed the website and lots of appologies to anyone this has affected.
So a quick response, which is good. So all the emails from the geeks worked. I know it doesn't help with your client hun but at least it cant happen again.

Annabet, when your client goes to a restaurant and orders a bottle of wine for £20 does she think that the owner of the restaurant pays £20 for it as well, surely not?????.. Blimey, I charge £35 for a tan, she'd probably have a flipping heart attack!

What she is paying for (along with a quality product) is your expertise and the fact that you have invested money into becomming a tanning professional ie, training, insurance etc.

Anyone can go and get a 2 bob spray tan and to be honest thats exactly what they get, a 2 bob spray tan!

Although at least with a spray tan you dont get a hangover which lasts 7/10 day's :lol::lol:

You'll have to excuse me for being thick, but whereabouts on their website does it list the price per tan? Are you referring to the prices of the solution?

It was removed after peeps requested it

not so long back i had a woman ring me about a set of nails, she was not impressed with my prices because she had been to sally's and seen what they charge for l&p and thought my mark up for my time was outrageous.
I told her, in that case hun, you go to argos, get yourself a rio kit and go for it, of course you won't be covered by insurance when it goes wrong, you wont have my years of experience to fall back on to apply your nails, you won't be able to come to me if there is a problem and you won't be garanteed that the end result will be flawless.
The same applys to tanning, waxing, hair cuts etc.
The tanning solution is a critical part of the treatment but so is the expertise of the person giving the tan and i for one refuse to undervalue a proffecional service. I can earn minium wage working in morrisons why the hell would i want to do the same for a service that requires, training, hard work, attention to detail and a pleasent manner?
If the lady is to dense to realise that she is paying for a dam sight more than the solution then its her lose hun.

totally agree with everything you have said here hun!
