Hello,

Driving around, I saw a salon that said "All treatments x amount".

What does everyone think of this - bearing in mind that if your sitting around not busy, it could bring in new clients who then carry on booking in regular treatments?

Would love to hear what you think of this

some treatments cost more to perform in terms of product.
some take longer and cost more in terms of labour.
you'd have to consider this when coming up with a price.

Personally if I saw that I'd think cheap & naff, and that they're probably struggling to get business, which would then make me wonder why!

Salons are either offering quality at a premium price or offering a lower quality service at a lower price - it's impossible to operate a high quality product at low prices. For that reason price often indicates to people the level of service, "reassuringly expensive" I call it!

Things like this always sound a good idea, and they might generate a bit of cash for a short while, but in the long run they're no good as prices have to be set to take into account cost of the individual treatment, overheads & some sort of profit. Also, bargain hunters rarely make good loyal long term clients, which is the basis of any salon business.

To be honest i dont agree with this.

As some treatments take more time and require more products, but then others only require a small amount of time/products

Somtimes people put these on their salon window to bring the customers in but it isnt as good as it seems

You saw it and it made you question if it was a good thing or not - Your cients will do exactly the same.
I would think they have downgraded their products and couldnt be giving me what they used to so they may lose their regulars as well!

I think the same, but wondered if anyone is doing this / same sort of idea.

I run monthly promotions, that bring in new clients as well as my existing ones trying / introducing them to new treatments that they don't normally have.

I have an A Board, with promotions, the website has the same one and also cards that I drop off to pubs which my friends own / give to clients. It all has to be the same info / prices / promotions to show consistency and this gives across a good image.

In hard times, it is very easy to do this, as it seems a good idea, but as some have already said, in the long run, it doesn't make the big bucks.

You just have to keep going, Try many different things and measure there success. I have great windows but my ususal style offer poster has stopped working for me so I put up an almond mani poster on the door and that has been catching people eye.
