Hi Im just interested to know if there any nail techs that work from their sitting room at all?
A few clients in the past have offered to come to me, I dont mind regulars but new clients Im a bit more weary of.
Its not so much the proffesional looking side of things as I feel my front room is presentable looking enough, but is more..invaiding my privacy!!
Saying this I do a mobile service , so I could do mobile for new ones untill I get to know them , and home for regulars...mmm.
Anybody else do this and what are your thoughts please.?

I work from home, in my front (upstairs/main floor) sitting room, right off the front door. I have a second one (family/play room) where all the children's toys, movies and whatnot are, in the basement.

My upstairs room is kept tidy at all times, with no familial paraphenalia lying about.
We do occasionally use it (hubby watches sports while the rest of us watch more interesting stuff downstairs LOL
To date, most clients have preferred it to the hustle-n-bustle, noise and smells of some salons. I usually have a scented candle burning and the radio on.
They feel that they can truly relax AND if they want to 'vent', there is no audience in a nearby chair eavesdropping.

When mobile, you lose business hours to travel, and you have to lose time setting up and packing up each time AND risk going somewhere with kids underfoot, etc etc etc...

I don't ever want to be mobile. Much prefer to be at home.

I WISH!! just don't have the space. I only have friends and family at mine to have their nails done

I only do really close family and friends at home as i dont have a separate room. I think this works best for me and I dont think I would want someone i didnt know to come to me, i prefer to go to them.

I work from my front room, I have no children living at home and my partner always makes himself scarce if he's not working.
I always light scented candles, and have the radio on, my clients have no problems coming to me, they find it comfortable..

hi,
I was just wondering, do you keep all your supplies in this sitting room all the time? I have been using my son's bedroom while he was a way at college but now he is back and i have to give up his room. I have a small den that I was thinking of using but I would have to keep my supplies (polishes, lotions, wax, etc) somewhere else. What do you do?
thanks
Lisa

I also work from home. And its so much easier, I did start out doing mobile but it was so hard for me as i had to take someone with me to help with my things and then when it comes to flats.

I have a spare room in my house which does have a bed and wardrobe in it but its a big room so one part is a spare bedroom and the other part is my salon bit.

xx
