Help!

I'm getting a brazillian done tomorrow and i want to know what to expect.

Such as will i have to take my knickers off, do i go on all fours?, how do they get in and around the labia?:irked:

I'm a bit shy too!

I'm not a waxer, so giving this from the client point of view.
I've had a couple done. One I kept my knickers on, and the other I took them off (different therapists). It didn't bother me to take them off, and she would have let me keep them on if I'd prefered, but it seemed easier to have them out of the way.

I didn't need to go on all fours with either, though I think some people do it that way. I just had to lift my knees up to my chest. She'll tell you where to position your hand so you can stretch the skin the correct way. It's all done very professionally and she's probably seen hundreds, so don't worry!

If you want your Brazilian done properly, you should be prepared to get 'em off. No point in being shy at a time like that.

Your waxer may ask you to get on all fours as this is the best way to remove all butt crack hair..........or she may prefer to get you into another position.

The only way that she can get the hair out of the labia, it to turn the labia outwards.

It all sounds far worse than it is and I'm sure she'll make you feel at ease and you'll love the benefits. xxxxxxx

I have a hollywood done every month. I wear disposable knickers (provided by the therapist), and move my legs into various positions instructed by the therapist (never on all fours).

As for the labia, she uses the paper knickers in a very clever way to hold 'my bits' in place, so I'm never fully exposed and she never touches my most private parts. Her technique is amazing (pain free and fast too), I watch in awe everytime and really wish she ran training courses in her methord!!

How did you get on with your brazilian? Did it go better than you feared?

I had my first full Brazilian last night and it honestly wasn't that bad, the "traditional" bikini parts are definitely the worst bit!

On that topic, I was wondering if any geeks could advise me on longterm aftercare, the therapist was really nice and explained the 24 hour aftercare but now that's (nearly) lapsed, what's the best way to go regarding exfoliating/moisturising/fake tanning etc? I would ring her but I can't call while at work so wouldn't be able to get advice til Saturday...

Start exfoliating 2 or 3 times a week and moisturise. Body brushing is good too. Don't go in extreme heat conditions for a few days. Also, don't tweeze or shave the waxed area in between appointments. Hope you're enjoying your Braz. xxx

Kim do you place a towel on the bits you aren't waxing? Isn't it embarassing for the client when you are pulling back the labia? Do they do it or you.

I don't use towels. I have a plastic couch cover and then I put new couch roll on for each client. I've worked in enough salons to see them throw the dirty towel into the laundry basket in front of the client, only to get it out when they've gone and use it on another client.

Sorry, in answer to your question. If they are having a Brazilian or Hollywood, they are naked from the waist down. That's the only way you can do the job properly. You wouldn't go to the dentist and expect him to work around you wearing a face mask. I don't get the client to pull the labia back, I do it all whilst chatting to them and I make them so relaxed that they don't even realise what's going on.

Skill and confidence are the two main factors in being a real Pro Waxer.

That's probably because it's on telly and they don't want you to see too much or get complaints from viewers. xxx

I used to be a nurse myself and worked with "ladybits" so can sort of put myself in the therapist's shoes too (I am determined to become a super waxer one day myself!). I think the important thing is to keep the chat going, as Wax Queen says.
I used to find bad 80s music distracted even the shyest ladies sufficiently!:green:

I have no idea why her technique is so good, but I really wish I knew her secret, as I never feel ANY pain or discomfort at all (and after 10 years of going to various therapists I would never have expected not to feel at least alittle discomfort in the bikini area).

In waxing keeping skin tight is the magic word.Also to pull back on yourself and NEVER UP, everything comes out of place and thats where you will bruise someone.The wax has to be pulled off the exact opposite way it went on as quick as you can.Like a quick positive snatching movement.

I regularly get a hollywood wax, I love the results, and It doesnt bother me having to get my kit off, thats one thing about the brazillian/hollywood - theres no room for modesty, she's seen it all before!!!

One thing though, does anyone know a good professional brazillian waxer in the Bradford/Halifax/Leeds area? I'm not happy with the lady that does mine and I want to change.
