well just for the sake of the cure, why not mix it (white sculpting gel) with clear finish gloss, and see if you like that consisitency, leaving you without the worry of mixing product lines with different amounts of photoinitiator?
Just my 2 cents ;)

Thanks Heather, I would have but I don't have any of the finish gloss. Can you mix up a bit and see what you get. I just like my whites to slightly level. I really love the combo and white is still very bright! thx

I hve nsi gels and have only used them for nno's or gel toes so far. That is until last night, I did a set of sculpts using the sculptor gel. It was the same as you describe, very thick with peaks.

I remember from an open day being told that the more you work the sculptor, the better consistency and movability you will get so I placed my bead and began to agitate it a little to get it working. It was ok but the end result was not good, I just wasn't happy with the stiffness of it and the shaping needed to get a good finish.

I have just tried this with a small amount of sculptor as the nsi clear builder is quite a runny consistency, whereas I think Brisa sounds a little like Ezflow, somewhere between the two.

Have to say the result is amazing.. I used the tiniest bit and it has given the sculptor a smoother finish while still leaving it with sculpting properties. Even the smile line didn't need swiping after, no peaks or troughs and a lovely smooth finish. Easier to clean up the side walls and FE too. It has toned down the brilliance of the white a little but this is good for me because I don't really like the radiant white sculptor that I have anyway.

Just thought I'd share the results of my little test with you.

As many of you know I use both Young and CND but since my masters I have been improving my Brisa.
YN have 6 gels all intermixable my perfect mix is french (thick viscosity sculpting gel) with a lil Hyperwhite (thin viscosity/runny gel) l love YN and have never had any problems apart from hyper on its own getting air bubbles if you play - so I dont!
Brisa was a challenge to switch to as I'm fabulous with YN. I do find Sculpting white very thick and with the cold winter almost impossible to use, so I mixed a lil POW in an voila perfection people!

The best thing to do with sculpting white is......... sculpt with it! I'm a gel gal and have used many diff gels and Brisa is Fab! so if you are having probs with it try heating it up on a radiator (as mrs o told me to yest) or try a lil POW in the mix.

HTH's

I just find the whole concept of changing a products nature interesting. Maybe it's because I have never used any other gel system but coming straight from L&P to Brisa I dont have any real issues with the white, probably because I just assumed any I did have were down to me and the lack of experience with it. I'm curious why anyone changes to a product just to not like how it works and try and make it like their other products. Wouldn't they just all be designed to work differently for a reason?

I think it's just about preference and technique. I found the sculpting white time consuming to get a smooth surface and to get it workable and now I don't have this problem.

All of the nsi gels are mixable so I don't really see it as a problem if it allows me to work better and smarter, time wise. I would rather do this than change brand because of it. JMO :)

just added: also, isn't this exactly what we do when we custom blend with l&p, change it to suit our individual preference?

No I dont think so, you are changing it to suit the client better and make a more natural end result, not the workability of the product. I think?

I'm not critisising, just curious is all

Yes, I get your point min. Suits me better this way for sure though :)

To be quite honest its about speed, confidence and results. I only changed to Brisa to sit ALL my masters - I had no problems with YN. Since changing I have had shadowing in my whites and have been taking too long.
When you have a salon you just want the best from your products and this way I get the best.
Brisa is made in a lab in Sunny California the consistency is prob always lovely over here in Baltic Ireland the consistency is nearly rock hard and yes it needs a lil help.
Brisa has been around for a while now and they have changed application and products to improve it - there is no diff with me doing my own improvements as long as it doesnt result in service breakdown or overexposure for my clients CND would prob welcome feedback. If there is a problem with using the two I will stop but as the amount of POW in the mix is small I dont see how it will. I will keep on with Brisa until there is no need to thin it but for the mean time I am getting fantastic results and will continue.

I DO NOT advise to mix any OTHER brand with products and dont see why Jogels cannot buy another CND product but it is up to her.

Thank you for 'getting' it Red Admiral and Gilly!!! :wink2:
