With university fees soaring, it's important we ensure that education alternatives are robust, efficient and fit for purpose. The role of apprenticeships is becoming more and more central within the education of our young people's lives and HABIA is calling upon us within the industry to get involved in the pending apprenticeship review.
Doug Richard, Entrepreneur, has been appointed by the Department of Education to review the system and Andrew Darby, Habia deputy chief executive, says "The outcome of this review may very well change the way apprenticeships in England are developed and delivered so it's really important that our sector makes its views known. Apprenticeships are likely to be at the centre of training and vocational learning in England over the next decade and more, so it is not exaggerating to say that this review could influence education policy for generations to come."
If you want to get involved and have your view heard then take part in the consultation at www.habia.org/richardreview. The closing date for responses is September 7th 2012 and the report will be published in the Autumn.
Until then...geek on!
