Sweet Jesus. A hair "pro" defending something as vile as Pantene?!?
Shocking.

If you re-read this thread you will find my opinion on Pantene, putting the word pro in quotations, is that a dig at my experience?
OMG am I seriously being judged on a comment I made about SHAMPOO!! Get a life!!

Yes I read your opinion on Pantene, posted after you said you had used it and found no problems. Also posted just before you said how you had more important things to worry about than what products you use on your hair.
Forgive me for not taking you seriously as a proffessional hairdresser, but I am of the opinion (as are many) that products such as Pantene are the bane of my hairdressing life. It IS a big deal. You should know what you are talking about before posting advice.
As for a retort to the "get a life" comment......well I have more important things to do.

With regards to knowing what I'm talking about I do, 12 years of experience in the industry in fact, maybe the get a life comment was not necessary, however the quotations marks around the pro that you used I found offensive as you don't know me in an way shape or form an therefore should not judge!! Fair enough you have an opinion on Pantene as I said I also find it damages the hair, being a Bain on your life, well that's your opinion, I have found its effected me that much, I'm sure the company itself hasn't either otherwise it wouldn't be multi million pound company would it?

Sorry that should have said haven't found it's effected me that much.... Silly iPhone auto correct

I'm not convinced to be honest. On the whole the profession isn't like this. Just these types of threads x

I am actually quite appalled just lately at the amount of nasty, bitchy comments that are flying around this site! If you really are that professional then bloody act like it... because for grown women, some are acting like silly teenagers!

Well said. Do u guys realise that ANYONE can read what your writing. How immature and confrontational some post come across. People put their trust in professionals across the board!

As for this forum just being for hairdressers, I thought hair & beauty professionals were all allowed to share their experiences in order to help others weather they are correct or not!!

Hi Scissoz,

Not sure if you have read "Commandments of a Geek" as yet but it will straighten any confusion out.

19 - Though shall not give pseudo-professional adviceIn the forums where you are not a professional (i.e. the Hair Geek forum if you are not a professional hair messer) you may not give advice. This is a forum for professionals and the only way to keep it that way is to make sure that you are very careful in your comments that you make in forums where you hold no qualifications. It is fine to chime in with opinion as long as it does not lead readers to construe that the information you have given is a professional recommendation. On that note, please do NOT recommend OTC (Over the counter) products and services. These are not professional.

Exactly!

I wish someone had reported the initial post by the non qualified person on this thread...as then it would have been deleted.

However you all choose to jump in with tackety boots on, and ended up a bit heated on here, with people taking sides and taking offence!
Was it worth it?

I feel it is too late now to delete the post, as so many have quoted it, mentioned it, and attacked it or defended it ;).

I am now closing the thread to halt it in it's tracks and so that lots more geeks will read it and learn from it, and I don't mean what shampoo to use, I mean learn to report posts that need reporting and reread the site rules!
