I already do CND l&p and Im going on a hollywood toes course in a few weeks. As I will learn about gel there do you think I should do the CND Brisa Gel course too? Or once I learn about gel is it easy to do enhancements with them? I would like to start offering gel nails but would like to keep with all CND products for hands. So with the Brisa training I would get the full kit.
Or should I stick to l&p? And just gel toes?
Is there meny people who offer l&p and gel? Iv had alot of calls asking if I do gel nails and when I say no just l&p they say they prefer gel so will look elsewhere. So I feel I am losing customers as I dont offer gel!

Thanks!

I have trained in CND l&p and also brisa as i wanted to be able to offer both to meet the needs of clients. Not everyone suits l&p and the same for gel. I recommend Brisa it is fab and you would need to do the training, it is more difficult than hollywood toes and it is strong enough to support extensions. There are other gels of course, and i plan on training in a soak off gel in the future too for clients who want this mainly for NNO's

Thanks! Which is your most popular?
There is a brisa course next month, think I will book onto that!
Whats an NNO?
How different is a soak off gel to brisa? Does Brisa have to be buffed off? xx

Like you say a lot of people (especially younger girls im finding) think they want gel without really knowing the difference and also despite gel not lasting very well on some of them. So I like to be able to offer both and discuss options when they come for their 'gels'. Once its all explained to them they are usually happy to go with whatever i recommend will work for them. I wouldnt have had them through the door first if i hasnt offered Brisa too.

NNO is natural nail overlay, so just covering the natural nail, no extensions.

Brisa is a buff off gel which i personally like as its very similar to the CND l&p to rebalance. A soak off has a more rubbery feel and is more flexible and is usually soaked off tho some can be filed and rebalance/filled I understand. Ive also bought the Brisa Bolds and am starting to experiment with mixing my own custom colour gels :)

Thanks, seen a NNO mentioned but Iv never heard an overlay called that! Now I know what they are talking about hehe!
I take it a soak off gel cant be rebalanced? Or can you buff off for the rebalance? I do get alot of clients who want their nails done just for a special occasion and dont come back for rebalances!
Iv bought the bolds for the l&p but not experimented first! Tried it on a tip on no nail and it was very thick and not very easy to do! But after some research on here I see its more difficult than just putting it on instead of white!

I know some soak offs can be rebalanced (i used to have biosculpture rebalances tho they werent called this) but im not sure if all can. Ive read that some disintegrate when filed but not sure which ones. Clients who dont come back for rebalance will probably just let it grow out or pick it off like i used to before i knew better whether it is buff off or soak off.

Shellac is great too if clients dont need extra length and you can sell them a pack of 10 remover wraps and product remover and an orange stick, then they can take it off themselves if they dont intend returning :)

re l&p colours ive chickened out of that until I do the colour blending course! I put polish or shellac over l&p for the timebeing for those who want colour x
