Hi Lynn, looks great.
The one thing is hot stone is two words not one, as people search for certain terms it might be best to change it. It all looks great and loads of info..
Good luck Jack

Hi

I don't really have time to look at the whole site but if your business is called LA nails and beauty, why is your domain name skye beauty?

Hi

I live on the Isle of Skye, it was a simpler looking and easier to remember domain address that something like www.lanailsandbeauty.co.uk for example. I'm hoping it'll appear easier eventually in search results! :)

I am not a website genius at all but from a client/outsider point of view I think it is very good and well laid out. The pricing looks clear and there isnt too much going on which can sometimes be a distraction. Maybe thats just me as I have zilch concentration!

I also like the gallery as you can see your work and what you can do.

Anyway good luck!

Lovely! I really like it.
Only thing on your home page - 'All of our beauticians' You are beauty therapists. Sorry I am a nightmare for pointing this out but beauticians work behind the counter in boots. You didn't train that hard for that status lol.
It's nice to see a price list that is not ridiculously cheap.
Love the pictures, it gives it some colour. Just make sure you get permission to use them or buy them yourself as i found out the hard way and got fined a grand.

It would look so much better if you got rid of the banner at the bottom.

Hope that helps you chick. Well done!

Definition of Beautician

Definition of Therapist

I personally would not describe someone working on a cosmetic counter as a 'Beautician'. I also would not describe an eyebrow wax as a 'Therapy' so I think the terms are very much interchangeable :)

Really good website! Well done you :)

On the home page it would look good if you introduce each of the therapists with maybe a photo & a little about their training etc.

Add what areas you all cover & add who you all are insured with & maybe companies logo.

I too would get rid of the banner at the bottom as mention already.

So is LA Nails & Beauty a team of mobile therapists?
How many therapists work for you?

x:hug:x

The reason I have beautician rather than beauty therapist is that we mainly do beauty treatments such as waxing, tanning and nails rather than therapies such as facial and massage etc. Also because I find 'Mobile Beauty Therapist' is a bit of a mouth full compared to 'Mobile Beautician'. Potential clients, I think, are more likely to search for beautician rather than therapist when looking to have treatments done!

I really do wish I could get rid of the banner at the bottom....its the only thing I dont like! Maybe once I start getting some business through my site I'll upgrade then I can remove it...just don't see the need to spend a fortune just now while we're just starting out!

Thanks for all your comments, really appreciate all of you taking the time to have a look! :) x

I'm in the process of doing the 'About Our Therapists' Page!
Need to find logo's for my links page too...just wanted it finished last night ha been looking at it over and over again all day yesterday lol!

There's just me and one other girl who is still training at the moment, don't know if i'd need to expand any further because its not a massive community up here on Skye, its very close knit...most of my business has came through word of mouth and facebook!

Thanks for your comments Emma! :) x

really liked your gallery page, just wish i could of enlarged your pictures. I think you have done a really good job. I have just had my website done and it wasn't as expensive as i thought it would be here is a link to mine so you can have a look and a link to the designer who did it ( altough he hasn't managed to quite finish his yet as he is inundated with work but i think it has his prices on there )

Very true! Some of those photos I'm pretty sure I have seen on iStockPhoto.com and fotolia.com for example - in which case you need to buy a licence to use them on your website - it's pretty easy - just sign up for an account on Stock Photography: Search Royalty Free Images & Photos | iStockphoto.com or Fotolia.co.uk - Royalty Free Stock Photos - many of the pics on there are only a quid or two each for web use.

Don't think that no-one will find out though if you've used images (e.g. from a Google image search) without permission - there are companies (e.g. PicScout) who run special software which trawls the Web looking for unlicensed images - and if a company like Getty Images or Corbis Images finds one of their images on your website and you haven't paid for it, then expect to receive a bill for hundreds of pounds from a big London law firm acting on their behalf!

Also, some of the pics look a bit "fuzzy" to my eyes, as if they've been enlarged from a smaller image - so that's another reason to buy the originals from iStockPhoto.com or fotolia.com - as they will be much better quality.

The pictures are a little blury. I am guessing you haven't purchased these?
Be careful as you will get fined!

Yep you sure will! Would not risk it, not worth it . Good luck with your website
