Hi,
Please don't pounce on me as I've done a search and it keeps saying no results whatever I put in, so I think my app has an issue.

My question is, what is the best way of doing gel polish on toes as a 28 weeks pregnant therapist with no pedicure stool?
I thought about standing to do it with the client on my massage couch with back rest up, I've badly bruised my coccyx and I struggle to get up once I'm sat as it's so painful so I'd rather stay standing or sitting and kneeling is a no go.

If I did it this way, would the lamp be Ok at the end of the couch with the client sitting up, knees up and bent to put toes in the lamp? (hope this makes sense and you can picture what I mean) or would this be uncomfortable for my client?

Hoping someone has an awesome idea and I have just missed something! Lol

Thanks in advance x

Oh poor you. I fell down stairs a few years back and damaged mine, so painful.

I used to do mine like that, but I sat on a swivel chair at the end of the bed. I'm not sure how comfortable you'll be honey, whilst standing, especially being pregnant too.

From a client perspective I know a few geeks use the couch and as said I used to as well, and clients loved it.

Hope you feel better soon. xx

Thanks so much for your reply, I was worried that the clients wouldn't like sitting like that so I'm glad you didn't have any issues with it.

I'm hoping it's better before I go into labour as that's painful enough! X

Awww poor you. I was trained for the client to sit on the bed and for the therapist to sit at the end which is going to be so much easier for you x

Haven't done it standing up but have used my beauty bed for client to sit on, she was half lying down and she was pretty relaxed with a magazine lol. It worked fine! Think she actually enjoyed it better than at the table! I'm not sure how standing would be good though as you may need to bend over to paint the toes which may be awkward for you x

Thanks all! I'm glad it is possible, I was starting to worry about it.

Off to be pampered myself tomorrow for my birthday! It's the first time I've had anything done myself since before having my first baby, so hopefully I'll feel a bit better by the time I see my client anyway! Can't wait! X

Hmm well it did work, was interesting when she had to put her foot in the lamp cos she was wearing a skirt. Didn't really think of that one!

Lol that's not down to you honey, I don't know why clients wear skirts to a pedi. Even if you'd had your foot on your lap and she was in a chair, she'd have had the same problem. Xxxx Hope you were comfortable enough and not in much pain lovey. Xxx

How do you do a pedi on a bed?! How does the client put their feet in the pedi bowl?
Would love to know as I now have to do pedis in my beauty room and there isn't much space, so being on the bed would be better, possibly.

We get their feet soaking while sitting on the sofa in reception then dry them off and they come through to the treatment room to sit on the couch.

Oh right. I can't do that. I'll just have to find a chair that folds away, due to lack of space, but is strong and comfortable enough too.
