Sorry if this is a silly Q! Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the grapeseed oils from beauty suppliers & the grapeseed oil you can buy for cooking from supermarkets etc?

I need to get some unscented oil for one of my clients but I usually use pre blended massage oils for all my other clients so am looking for the most economical way to buy!

Is it the same thing?!

As far as I'm aware they will contain exactly the same thing. In fact my aromatherapy tutor told us that it is much cheaper in the supermarket too!!

Should be the same thing.

Should be ok but you will find that the grapeseed you buy from Tesco is a lovely shade of green (for if you want the nice Shrek look) the grapessed you buy from the likes of Eve Taylor are a golden colour, in terms of properties though no difference I don't think.

Give it a whirl and let us know.

many will say their oil is purer than another's, often they come out of the same drum, but many will try and oversell others ..... i wonder .... whats more important, an oil safe enough to ingest or put on your skin?

here's an interesting site that may help you out some.... these guys are fantastic and you are lucky enough to have them in the UK.... great products, great packaging solutions

I agree New Directions are a very good company with top quality oils, we get all our aromatherapy products from them.

I have to say, if I want a base oil I would rather get it from a recognised aromatherapy supplier than from a supermarket. Then I know that what I'm getting in the bottle is what it says on the label and hasn't been mixed with anything. JMO!
