Hi, I just thought If anyone in the Cheshire area is interested Warrington Collegiate have Beauty & Nail Technician courses on Saturday & Sunday which is great if anyone is still working but is planning a change of career. The courses include manual and spray tanning. Have a look if there is anything that might interest you.

Would be easier for me, it would mean I would do the course I want to do rather than the only one I have the time for.

yes I would prefer to train on the weekend because I have 2 kids at home and I have to be home by 11am for my little fellow to return home from pre-school and be home by 3pm for my daughter to get home from school its easier for me to get a sitter on the weekend!

well thats fine
except that when some of our academies plan a class or course- on a weekend -all of a sudden -people cannot make it for one reason or another, - and we cannot in all fairness expect one of our educators to be paid less because there are less people in the class? The show must go on____what do you guys think?

I agree weekend training would be great. It would also be nice to see some more training in my area all the bigger companies do their training up north and we feel very left out down in East Anglia:cry: I don't mind doing a little travelling to a course but as our road net work here is awful -lorry crashes daily on main A road which then causes the whole area to be grid locked!! I know that if I had to travel I just wouldn't get there.

Hi,
I just ran a workshop on a Sunday and got 10 students which is pretty good.
I don`t want to eat into my familly time so I don`t know if it will be a regular thing or not.
I can see why it appeals.
I just tried to run a night course in acrylics and got no takers.I thought 6-9pm one night a week would be good?Maybe not.

Hi All

Would just like to add that I also run workshops and classes on a Sunday and find that this suits the students. I also do in house training for salons as I find this suits them better.

If you look at some other companys you will find there are a few that offer this service.

I would be glad of weekend training, I work full time in my office job and for the last year have attended evening college on a monday and wednesday after work. Means I leave the house at 8am and dont get in until 9:45pm.

The only thing that keeps me going is knowing the fact I will eventually have a career in nails after I qualify! :) Can't wait to hand my notice in!

Would prefer to go at weekends though would be so much easier and wouldn't be so tired :zzz:lol

Fab idea! would help most to reach there gols> I would love t learn
Chiropody but cant give up the time in the week to do it.

i did a weekend course at Macclesfield recently, Combined it with a stay over for the weekend with my sister and really enjoyed the course and stay over. There was no stress or rushing about. well done to our course leader as well.

I'd love more training at weekend especially Sundays. I have to shift clients in the week and that's the way to loose them.

Maggie

i hope there is a lot of training companies reading this and realising there is money in them there weekends

i know i would be there every weekend for sure

come on creative, help us train instead of getting hangovers at the weekend lol

I offer Young nails training on weekends in scotland and always have done (works for me)

sorry girls I have already replyed to this thread still on American time

Here in Germany it is normal that the Company's offer Weekend course. Most of them only offer classes on Weekends. It is really rare that they have a offer for courses during the week.
But here everything is a little different. The Job,, Nail technician" is not acknowledged by the State. So Housewife can open up Home Studios with no training at all. Or they just went to a class on one Day and then they start up and then they act like they are professional trained Nail Tec.......*grml* Sorry this just makes me angry.
Back to topic: if it is not usually in your Country that the Nail Company's ( or what so ever) offer courses on the Weekends then they should start to do it.
I guess they would get way more People in the classes then during the week. I run my own business and I know how hart it is to reschedule appointments that you have set up with your clients months ago. I never could do it to take a course during the week.

The Creative Nail Academy Manchester, have Foundation courses running at the weekends, the next one starting on the 24th November, we will have the evening courses starting again in January 2008. Ring 01942 677728 for the details.

We at Vanity offer training at weekends and in the evenings. We run NVQ training courses and we are also the regional educators in the South Esat region for Young Nails. We find these courses are very popular and help students with children as they can generally get child care and also people that work don't need to take time off. So the answer is 'Yes' they are a good idea.
