I've got a colour client in later this week and she has well water.

Does anyone know which Malibu C I need to use?

You need a good chelating shampoo to remove mineral build up which will be a lot more cost effective than individual packets of crystals. (You want the hard water ones)

Chelating shampoos used to contain Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, widely abbreviated as EDTA, although I'm not sure if that's the case nowadays.

Joico clarifying shampoo is a good one. Shampoos marketed for swimmers are generally a good bet as they remove chlorine build up.

She's a once in a while type client.

So I think having a few sachets in might be ok, pretty much all of my other clients are non-swimming, mains water.

My rep won't sell me Joico as there's a salon locally with exclusivity.

I would generally go for the crystal gel tretment @Grace_Hair . Although they all use absorbic acid as the active ingredient not sure exactly how much of a difference there is between them...

I used the hard water one in the end.

And I didn't realise how deposited the clients hair was. Just after a wash and blast dry, her previous blonde looked far creamier and less green!

I should have taken photos. Maybe I will next time and use hard water. Then the time after, the crystal gel.

It is amazing what a difference it makes @Grace_Hair ! Also fantastic for lifting colour, eg. Removing pastel toners, silver shampoo build up etc.
