same question has popped up again lately about the difference in maximist machines so i am bumping this up again its a totally non self promoting thread that contains very important information to stop people being scammed on ebay or by google adds
and its my opinion that the pro gun is an overpriced over engineered gimmick, the 5008 has a standard gun that is fantastic it runs at the same PSI and has the same nozzle apperture hence same spray pattern as the pro gun
You dont need aircraft grade aluminium on a system that runs at 1.7 psi
spend the money you save on solution or training !!

The analogy I like to draw on to differentiate between the Maximist standard gun and the Maximist Pro gun, is as follows;

The standard gun could be likened to a BMW whilst the Pro gun would be the Bentley, both are remarkable vehicles and both will get you from A to B. However, given the choice between the two I know which I would prefer to drive!

A seasoned professional will definitely appreciate the difference between the two. Aside from the obvious aesthetic differences, in my opinion, the Pro gun benefits from a greater degree of control. Couple that with a life-time guarantee and you have a remarkable piece of equipment.

Amen to that...comparing the two guns is a tad like comparing a dustpan and brush with a Dyson vacuum cleaner...both will do a good job however one wont give you back pain :lol::hug:

I am just waiting for my "truespray" to come in the post today from Sienna X and would be happy to report back with how I get on with it!

I the Maximist XL from Suntana the same as the Hvl5008?

Yes it is, only difference i am aware of is that it has a different hose from machine to gun xx

Ahhhh this thread has worried me!!!

I have the MaxiMist LITE (HVLP500) and I have managed to do 3 tans in a row with this gun. On Friday the 22nd of April I will be doing 6 tans in a row.
I am now worried my gun will burn out.
I do not have the money to purchase a new one as much as I would like to.
I did my training with Havering Beauty Academy who use Suntana supplies and went with this training because they claimed the gun was really good etc. I am now very disappointed as the gun isnt that good!!

What should I do?!?!? x

Now I am panicking I have the HVLP TS10 MidiMist Machine from LA Tanning, I have done 6 tans in a row and this has worked fine.....

I went to a beauty salon in my local area and she said she spray tans with the paint sprayer guns from B&Q and said they were better than the spray tanning machines i was shocked!!

X

Well if it 'burns out' you will have to pay for another anyway. You could try it and hope for the best, inform your clients that after 3 tans you will need to take a break for the machine to cools down, offer them the services over two different appointments (3 at a time), borrow a machine of someone who may have a better machine or buy a new machine. Can't think of any other options:)

Hi geeks
well after all the debating and searching the net after everyones advice i am pretty much decided i am going to buy the kit from OMG tent/5008 machine free solution and accessories i can use the free products and see what quality they are like and also use the solution for practising and maybe as a fulltime product if my clients like and i like. so will let you know next week when it has arrived.

Forgive me for sounding dumb but i am new to spray tanning so bare with me, i do my training this monday. I have read this post and many others like it. I have come to the conclusion that the hvlp 5008 is the machine for me. I am a little confused as to where to buy from though.....sienna x, suntana and omg all seem to stock it if i am correct? But omg are the only ones who call it the hvlp 5008 and theirs has clips around it for the hose were as the one pictured on suntana & sienna's site doesnt?.....i just want to make sure the one on the omg site is the machine everyone has been recomending as its the cheapest i have found with a tent and solution but obviously i want the right machine......apologies for the ramble. Thanks Ellie

Hi - The HV5008 is the standard offering from the manufacturer of this machine. Maximist is Trade Mark given to the improved model featuring the all new 'flexi-hose' and distinctive 3D branding. Also, the Maximist range of machines are now available in 'Burnt Sienna' as apposed to the generic black colour

IS the 5008 the same price everywhere? or is there somewhere I can get one cheaper? Im not sure whether to buy as a kit or buy everything I need individually

Ive just seen this on LA Tanning website for £199 including 4 litres of tan!!! Why does this seem too good to be true, or am i just being a suspicious creature!!!
