Martin...

Will you be changing the website to a trade website?

I just have a feeling once clients get wind of it, the 1st thing they will do it Google and buy some. good for you, bad for us techs (p.s. I know you're a tech too, so you'll understand what I mean ;) ) I know they won't be able to apply as well as us lol. Just makes it a little bit more accessible to them if it's not a trade/pro only sight xxx

Martin please tell me you worked out shipping to Canada :)

Did anyone else have trouble getting at the gel? I just couldn't get the silver protective layer off - you should see the mess I got into, stickiness everywhere haha. It could well be me as my family say I'm ham-fisted with everything. Great for keeping it sealed in transit though!

I have no plans to change this to a trade only website.
I totally understand what you are saying, but I have not got the resources to police who is and who is not professional. (And within the uk anyone can open a shop and say they do nails without a qualification so who is to say who is and who is not a professional)

As a professional I hate when you are interested in something that you have to log in find the details it's like fort knocks getting into some professional websites (and I understand why they do this) but it really buggs me. I'm struggling to get people to find my website and order as it is without having to have them go through screening.

It clearly states on the product label "for professional use only" so if you are not a professional then you should not be using it .

I understand what you are saying, but if a client is going to do her own nails she will weather or not I make this a professional or trade only website, the product will be bought by professionals and then end up on ebay at an inflated cost. Biosculpture shellac gelish all those products have trade only websites and all of their products are readily available on ebay.

It is not long before the products will be available for retail anyway check out red carpet manicure ( the retail version of artistic colour gloss)

I am currently working as a consultant for a major European nail care manufacturer who is developing a retail one step gel polish that will soon be available on the high street

And I know of a product that is about to hit the shelves in the USA that is a very similar product to mine that is available for retail

I would not worry about your clients there are some who will always get there nails done professionally and there are some that will try to do their own nails but your skills knowledge and abilities will far out weigh them.

Look at the home hair care market there is everything you can imagine on the high street available for home hair colour and yet there are also 100 of hair dressing salons open and available offering colour services .

If you want to try doing your own nails you will do that weather or not, if you want to get hold of a product you will. I understand that I may be making that easier by being an open website but just be confident in your skills and abilities and the loyalty of your clients.

Sorry if this reply disappoints you, but the amount of none professionals who will access the product is minimal, it is currently being sold as and promoted as a professional product and the ingredients determine this, it's in professional forums and been seen in professional magazines. The public have very little access to it. However public promotion needs to take place in order for the public to be aware of the possibilities that are available to them at professional salons :)

I think this is a refreshing approach regarding how you're selling your product and I agree with everything you say in that if a non pro is going to buy a pro product it doesn't mean that they're going to be able to use it well anyway so I don't see it as a threat to professionals.
