Me again! I have a friend coming for a luxury mani & pedi soon & i am wondering how i can swap between their hands & feet to free up time, ie i do a bit of mani work then go to pedi then swap (or otherwise i will need to do whole mani then whole pedi). hope that makes sense! i have a v small room so i use my therapy couch for the mani table & the pedi they will be on the couch with the back rest up. thanks

Trudy , first thing , slow down. These are supposed to be relaxing treatments. That is what your client is paying for. Stop trying to rush through things. As a guide we book 1 hour for a luxury pedi, and charge £35, or £40 with shellac/gelish. Luxury manicure £25 (45 min) or £35 with shellac or gelish finish.Concentrate on doing a great job , and not rushing treatments xx

I would carry out the luxury manicure first and before the paint ask the client to remove shoes (if they haven't got sandals on). Then when you have finished your manicure and the nail paint, fill up your foot spa and get your client to sit and soak and then use this time to pack away manicure items and set your treatment couch up ready for your luxury pedicure. There really is no way of reducing the treatment time as the treatment is what it is and is supposed to be luxury and relaxing. It's just the bit inbetween and how to utilise your time. Doing the manicure first will ensure her fingernails are dry assuming its regular polish. Hth x

This made me chuckle! You are so right. As I am new my luxury mani & pedi take well over an hour each so was trying to see if I could free up time . But your right it's not about me but my client. I also didn't explain I am charging half price as using it as a practice - I wouldn't want to rush if client was paying full price. Thanks x

Even though you're doing the treatments at half price you should still be doing them properly as if you were charging full price. At this point you trying to gain experience so there is no benefit in rushing and cutting corners.

When clients book luxury treatments then that is exactly what they want...a bit of luxury! Being rushed doesn't make for a luxury treatment and if i was treated like that in a salon then I wouldn't return I'm afraid.

The more you practice the faster you will get, but a luxury pedi should normally take anything between 1 and 1.5 hours, luxury mani between .45 and 1.15 hours so you really don't need to rush anyway. They're paying for your time so make sure you give them that time x
