Hi Ladies

I really could do with your help. I have been doing mobile but have not been doing it long, so don't have too many clients. Fed up of lugging my stuff about..
Have been offered a really nice room in salon, can come and go as I like.
Would you take a risk and do it?
Or would you still work full time and just do it at the weekends?

If I do it full time will have to subsidise the business and home bills etc, how long do you think It could potentially be before business picks up and how quiet will it be in Jan or Feb.

The salon is available from end of Nov and has a therapist in there now so has some clients, am told it does well..

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME SERIOUS ADVICE

Thanks

do I take the risk, is beauty working at the min.. I do lashes, tans, threading, natural lift facials, man and ped with gel, tinting and brows and will be taking on waxing before xmas.

In my opinion you need enough money to cover your expenses for 6 months (min) so you can really give it your all, build up your business without worrying... Just what I would do.

If your heart isn't in mobile (I do it, it can be tough) then go for it if your finances allow. You can always work part time employed somewhere to keep you earning some definite money.

Is it in a good location? Is there parking? Where is the person going who is there now?

Just thinking if she is going mobile/home salon her clients will most likely follow her. Bare in mind, the owners wont tell you 'she has no clients' as they want the space to sound appealing.

Ive turned down three rooms, one of the salons has now closed, phew... Close call! & the other wanted me to rent a large space, too big for my own needs, (Id have only used a third of it) with a rent to match. & another wanted to basically 'employ' me but call me self employed.

Its unlikely you will profit in a short period of time, so you need to set yourself up for the long haul...

Good luck with your decision 🍀 xx

How much is the room? How much time & money do you spend on traveling?

I went from being fully mobile to fully working from home and I lost only 5 customers- both very wealthy ladies who were not even regulars and I had to drive to them for as long 40min each way! So I don't regret.

You need to think long term where you want to be- you need to realise where you want to go and take sacrifice xxx good luck xxx

Hi cathy!
In my opinion, if you don't have savings that could help you pay rent if you're not getting business you should use a tiny space in your home, as long as you have no kids around and your area is clean and tidy you could do that until you build a clientele because honestly if you have no savings or second income to lean onto while your renting a space it could go bad.
I'm using a tiny space ATM because I'm building a clientele until I move into my home salon.
If you do have something to fall back onto money wise then go for it!
Elaine. Xx
