Hi guys
I'm just after abit of advice. Went to a Salon for a spray tan she put Vaseline on my hands, feet, knees and elbows - done the spray and once I came out the salon I noticed the areas in which she put the Vaseline are white? Does this mean they won't develop into a tan?
At a wedding tomorrow and hope it turns out ok :-(
Any advice would be brill

I thought vaseline was used as a barrier so on bleached eyebrows etc. not on hands and feet.. i may be completly rong thow, perhaps yu can, yu may need to wait for some other replies.. I will be interested to see what others say.. I use st tropez and apply body lotion (as trained) to the hands, feet, knees and elbows and any particuarly dry areas x

Hi yes Vaseline is a complete block, the tan won't develope, where the Vaseline has been! :(((

Arw god really, I don't understand why she would put it on if it's a barrier. I've managed to put some tan on in the white places and I'll just add some sun shimmer in the morning if needs be. Thanks girls

I would usually use a barrier cream on these areas as they are the driest and tan really sticks to them causing that dreaded orangey colour and awful fade off!! However never heard of using vaseline that seems crazy to me!

best not to use Vaseline as you will get the problems you just describe
if your client properly ex foliates and undertakes proper after tan care there really should be no need for this to be applied
