Hi be gentle with me i havent posted here before i usually use nail geek but am trained to wax!
i recently waxed a friend with the roll on wax she is young and dramatic but she claims it is too hot! i have tesed on myself and i use this on others and not had any problems, she has sensitive skin i think! but it really bothers me and i dont want to scare her off waxing. her doctor told her to try waxing because of skin problems but she is a shaking wreck when she leaves and i am a mess because of how she reacts, even when im rolling it on she says it burns, and brings her boyfriend to hold her hand!! please help!!

does she say its too hot everytime she comes in? If you are testing it on yourself and find the temp normal then it should be fine. some clients are just a bit dramatic when it comes to waxing, she probably imagines it to be alot worse than it is, have you actually ever burned her skin? she obviously trusts you if she keeps coming back to you so I would just tell her to man up, she probably wouldnt do it with another therapist. I wax my friend and she screams the place down but I know she is just being dramatic as none of my regular clients do this! Dont let this put you off waxing in the future as only a small percentage of clients are like this! x

Some clients get themselves so worked up about waxing that they experience much worse pain / discomfort then their actually is.

Why not get her to pop down a few days after she has been waxed just to try applying a little wax to the inside of her wrist to try the temp. Make up a story about trialling a new low-temp wax, don't tell her it is the same wax and the same temp and see what the reaction is. You need to do this when she isn't coming in for a full wax so she doesn't get all worked up.

If you pander to clients/friends like that, they'll have you jumping through hoops. Be assertive and explain that the wax is at the right temp and that you can't continue waxing her if it's going to cause her stress, pain and worry. x
