HI GUYS...
BEEN OUT WITH MY KNOW IT ALL SISTER TODAY,TOLD ME THAT MY GOLD GLITTER TIPS WERE HORRIBLE AND LOOKED LIKE I HAD SAND UNDER MY NAILS!!! WELL,AFTER THIS WE GOT ON TO THE SUBJECT OF ME JUST HAVING DONE MY TANTRICK TRAINING....SHE WENT ON TO TELL ME ALL FAKE TANS ARE FAKE AND ORANGE LOOKING (DIDN'T CORRECT HER AS I DON'T WANT HER AS A CLIENT,LOL) SHE IS BY THE WAY A SUNBED USER! WELL,SHE WENT ON TO ALSO SAY THAT SPRAY TANS WERE OLD HAT NOW AND THAT NOBODY HAS THEM ANYMORE BECAUSE THE NEW METHOD USING THE "LIGHTS" IS FAR BETTER (?????)
HAS ANYBODY GOT ANY IDEAS WHAT SHE MEANS??? I ONCE HEARD ON THE RADIO PART OF AN ADVERT TALKING ABOUT "WHITE LIGHT" FOR A BEAUTY SALON IN BASINGSTOKES FESTIVAL PLACE,BUT NOT THOUGHT ABOUT IT SINCE.ANYONE SHED ANY "LIGHT" ON THE SUBJECT FOR ME PLEASE??? THANKS XXX:hug:

Could she just mean uv light standing up in a booth or something, maybe she thinks this is a totally different method of tanning!!!

She Uses The Stand Up Sunbeds At The Moment,so Don't Think She Means Those Hun,i'm Stumped!!!

I don`t have a clue that was my best effort!!!!!!!
I`m sure if there is anything like that it will be at the show, so someone will spot it! If not then i doubt it exists. xx

Check out CadenceAlex thread, could this be the same treatment I wonder????

I think she must be talking about UV tanning you should have told her she'll look like a handbang if she keeps using them lol (thats why I stopped, hope I caught it time lol)

I had a girl come in my salon for a job yesterday - she was Hungarian and I was explaining the difference between the sunbeds.. and she saw my Matrix bed and said ''aahhh the lights' - so it could be high pressure your sister is referring to ?

So is there anything new about this or is it still a sunbed

It's the new technology - more UVA than UVB but it still tans you and tans you deeper. I actually, don't use it! It lasts longer than regular beds and gives you a more natural tan and they are supposedly safer.

I see.

In short they age you more than they burn you and penetrate the skin deeper hense the longer lasting tan and longer term skin damage!

It has recently been found that although in the past it was thought that UVB caused skin cancers (hense the new tanning systems) it is now known that UVA does too.

This is an article about UVA in sun beds:
Sunbeds - British Association of Dermatologists

thanks for info guys xx

Just wondering if this applies to UV nail lamps too? They are UVA only aren't they? So I always thought that meant they are safe. With some gel systems a client could have their hands under the UV light for about 25 minutes a month. If UVA causes cancer too, this can't be good - can it?

Mmmmi cant be sure but i would guess that its to do with the strength of the lamp...i would say that for something like a UV nail lamp (compared to the body lamps) the exposure is minimal and therefore the risk is too. ????? anyone
