The word 'HUN'

I'm probably one of the worst people in the world for calling people love, lovey, hun, dahhhling..that's part of my PERSONALITY!!!

I'm not bothered what people call me as long as it isn't "oi you"! I call my baby granddaughter munchkin, pickle and treacle or just plain grandma's princess!

i like being called hun its sounds sweet endearing and warm...
i answer hun on here why cause in real life i call people "mate" all the time, and if i said it on here it would probably read quite harsh...when i end every sentence with mate anyway in real life "thatswhat the armed forces does to you " .
so nope i dont get sick of being called hun, and i think when i call people on here hun its in a nice soft cuddly way......so how can "hun" offend or be offended by ............hun:hug:

I never called anyone hun before I came on here. I may also have called people hon (sorry whoever hated this, might have been Emmsy, sorry hon.... oops hun) because it is a short form of HONey surely?
Round here everyone seems to call females Pal nowadays. I actually prefered it when guys called you love or dear, although I guess it's probably not PC now.

Thank god i'm not the only one. I was reading this thread thinking OMG!! I have been running around this site calling people "BABES". I say it in almost every post but that really is what I say to people in real life. I love the word. I also use hun but again I say that to my friends too in txt's and I think its nice.
People can (and do) call me anything they like I don't mind.

What if we change hun to "Honeychunks" LOL

I also picked up the 'hun' term here. I only say it online. Well I say it loads to kids but never adults. I find it a bit annoying when someone calls me hun that barely knows me but I love being called hun here. Makes the virtual world a little warmer.:Love:

The other word I use a lot is 'sweet'. I call all my footy boys sweet. Or sometimes 'darl'.

I am guilty of saying hun lately, I always used to say "mate" and still do to my close friends, but it can sound a bit blokish as Joanne said.

I call people Hun, Honey, Honey bun, Babe, Babes, Sweetie, Gorgeous, and loads more...I say it when talking to people and I write it on here and in texts and emails. It doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I agree with Minkus that as long as it isn't rude or offensive I don't mind what I am called xx
