I was so nervous I thought I was going to pass out!!!! When I turned up 15 minutes early the salon manager said I will only be doing the blowdry as they have lots more people coming in for a trade test than they expected! Much to my disappointment I went ahead with shampoo and blowdry and the salon manager said it looked awesome... Then I had a quick chat with another member of staff about the new salon and where I see myself slotting in etc.. Anyways I still haven't heard from them whether I got the job or not as they are very busy with the launch and their decision has to run past their director.... .. So it's a waiting game now. My friend was waiting for over a week until she heard back from them so fingers crossed, I've done my best! Xxx
Will keep everything crossed. Bit harder to do when you have thought up the design and how u will finish off a colour and cut to did out ur doing a blowdry on the clients hair as it is, maybe that's something we should all think about.
My new thing will be do a complete restyle and the finish, but also think of a way to complete the style with the hair in its current state xoxo

Hey guys, I still not heard back from the salon I had a trade test in last Friday... I know they are mega busy with getting ready for the opening of their new salon next week and one of my friends who now works there had to wait ages before the owner contacted her and offered her a job.. Now the question is - shall I get in touch and ask very politely when do they expect the decision to be made... I wasn't given a clear indication on the day about how long will it be until they get in touch so i think it's a valid reason to call/text them however I don't want to sound needy! Any advice what should I do? I'm very keen and would appreciate either decision... And given that I have to give a month notice to my current employer I want to know ASAP 0.o xxx

Hi guys, just got an EMAIL back from the salon today saying, that they gave the job to another candidate with "MANY YEARS HAIRDRESSING EXPERIENCE"!
i mean really? gradate stylist with many years hairdressing experience? are you joking me? then, well, i suppose im glad i didn't get it!! i don't want to work as a graduate stylist in 10 years time to only apply colour, blowdry hair and clean the salon! also the fact that they wouldn't let me colour my model's hair after asking me to arrange it for my trade test.. . Oh well, would they really make a good, reliable employer? a lot to think about...
Rant over lol.
just think they could've put more effort into handling the recruitmnt process... and their reply. a call would be nice... But given that it was salon receptionist that interviewed me rather than salon owner or at least a stylist - i shouldn't be surprised...

Haha that's very professional of them to get the receptionist to interview you! I walked into a salon to just ask if they had any jobs going or for experience and she got the manager straight away.. They prob would use you as a skivvy anyway keep trying and have hope! xx

Thanks hunni, I do hope that I will find a place as I won't give in so easily! I'm absolutely fine that I didn't get the job just think it was very unprofessional how they handled it... Btw it was the receptionist who emailed me the decision... Lol. Xx
Lol says it all then! The manager didn't even have the time to interview you let alone let you know herself the result of her decision (if she even did do the deciding lol) xx
