Tinkerbell how did you do these bad boys? X

Hi Sarahlou. I applied 2 coats of colour shellac as normal and then 2 coats of top coat. Then with 240grit file I gently took the shine off of the nails (the theory is that you are taking one layer of the top coat off). Wiped over to clean and then did a sweep of top coat over the free edge and Seeled the end. Cured and wiped over again. You can do all sorts of designs with the top coat, spots look great too!

Cnd l&p.. ive always had square nails so thought id try them almond shaped! Its a custom opaque powder with silver shimmer mixed in :)
They look alot shorter in the picture, i think its the angle it was taken x

Hi there. I tried the 'matte' effect nails today with shellac rubble and Blackpool with French top coat tips! Think I'm addicted!!!

Loving this. Have seen these before and wanted to try it. Do you use black then matte then top coat on tips. I read somewhere this is how it's done but then you wouldn't be able to put top coat all over as it would make it shiny or am I missing something and being stupid again lol. Hope this makes sense. Not very good at explaining myself lol x

Hi Skindeep. Yes you use your normal colour, two layers of top coat, use file to make it matte (being careful not to remove top coat completely, then just top coat tip and cure. There is a great video on iTube from Fingernail Fixer called 'matte shellac art'.

Thank you. I only do the basic manicures and don't have training in curing etc. So would this only work doing it the way you mentioned. x

I just did this gradient was done under the careful supervision of Nibbi (Mr Nibbles my new kitten). He wanted to make sure I was doing everything correctly so he sat on my shoulder and directed all going ons ; )

I used Kiko polishes for this gradient, #376 as the base is a light pastel pink. #360 is a medium pink-y color and #361.

I then stamped it with Konad SP in white, m73.
