Yikes dec birthdays are a nightmare.

Hope doggy gets a lovely toy for xmas and plenty of left overs as a last xmas treat ,poor thing

did I mention son's birthday is Dec 15th!!! oh what joy!

I am going to keep my eye out for a wii fit as think it would be a good family present.

Its definetly going to be the dog's last christmas, the vet says her kidneys are failing and she will deterioate as her kidneys start to poison her.....bless her!

My daughters birthday is on the 21st  even worse, we usually buy her a big present for her birthday and then little bits n bobs for xmas.

Im looking at getting her some Heelies this year, they may not be the rage so much now , but shes been wanting some for ages.Luckly my daughters not at the age yet where shes in demand for something that all her friends are getting.

I symphathies for parents who have to go trapesing round all the shops for the latest rage to find out there all out of stock.Im sure I will be joining them all very soon though.

my youngest daughters birthday is Dec 24th.....poor thing

My daughter was born on the 24th too. My son was born on the 12th Dec.

My youngest brother was born on Xmas day and he always got one 'large' present from everyone, nobody ever bought him a separate birthday present and he must have felt like he missed out when it was other peoples birthdays.

I'm lucky that mine are at an age that they don't really mind what they get or how many they get.
I have promised myself that I will not get caught up in what other parents are buying their children in my eldest class at school, especially as they all seem to have the latest game consoles at the age of 5!

This year my youngest has asked for Belle's dress from Beauty and the Beast, which she will get for her birthday (22nd December) along with a main present when I work out what that will be:lol:
My eldest has asked for books, The little Mermaid DVD, Ariel doll and a camera (you know the ones that are meant to be indestructible)

Youngest has been bought The Jungle Book DVD and a camera as well because I know she will want what big sis has, I also managed to get them when Argos had them reduced.

I've bought their stocking bits, which are just hair clips, note pads, pens, miniature set of books and some choccie.

I spent yesterday morning wrapping them to stay on top of it.
I still have everyone else to shop for but not in any rush there because I still need to get ideas from them:lol:

My girls are 3 (almost 4 by Christmas) & 6. I thought I knew what I was going to buy them but at the moment Sainsbury's have got all their toys half price, so I've been in there buying lots of little things. I've got some HSM bits for the oldest & Disney Princess/Barbie for the youngest.

I certainly won't be going mad - will spend less than £50 on each of them. I'm of the opinion that the more they (children in general) have, the more they want & the less they appreciate.

My middle daughters birthday is 16th Jan! I buy all her stuff in the jan sales, along with her eldest sisters whose birthday is on the 14th march.

This year they want a TV each for their room which is going to cost £200 each!

I usually only spend about £70 each on them though for birthdays.

I start christmas shopping in July picking up cheap bits for stockings or toys etc on offer.

I try buy all the console games on bogof, but the latest games always seem to be full price. £40 is a lot of money for a game.

I try not to listen to the playground talk, but can't help it and feel my kids will miss out if I dont get them what everyone else has. My kids never asked for any games consoles I just bought them for them anyway. My kids only use the DS's in the car (on 2 hour journeys every fortnight to their dads) and I doubt they will use the Wii much either!

I know exactly what you mean hun, it's difficult trying to get the right balance.
My daughter (5) is happy with her toy laptop and doesn't really understand the games on that so I know a console wouldn't get played with, well at least not by her!
So far the mum's have only mentioned buying Disney films and dolls, so I might be alright this year!

I am well chuffed ! My daughter has a very special cherished doll that goes EVERY where....sadly she is about 100yrs old and is worse for the wear !

I have searched and searched the internet and found someone to 'clone' her !!!

And....we're going to london for the day to see hairspray - what will all the other things she gets from family etc thats plenty!

My Birthday is in December and I always insisted that it was kept separate from Christmas and still do:lol:

I don't have children but HRH will be getting a rubber chicken (wrapped of course) and turkey leftovers and gravy.:green:

Oh dear I think I should be out xmas shopping instead of being on here!

Lego Agents Cars & lorry (£50)
