A new chain of a hairdressing salon, what the heck is this?

We have one in Bexleyheath.....There are always 'bums on seats'.....
I have also noticed another salon a few hundred yards away offering the same type of deals.....£10.00.....Cut's, colours, whatever.....
The problem is, we now have a culture who LOVES to think they are getting a deal.
Any one who isn't offering 50% or more off, is a 'Robbing B******'!
Talk to your client's, and you will see what I mean.
Today my client was telling me,'they are charging £1.90 for a coffee at blah blah.......daylight robbery, we all know how much a spoon of coffee is'!
They can not see
1. Overheads
2. Staff, who are employed to make their coffee.....
3. It's a business, not a hobby/charity, it's there to MAKE MONEY!

I believe 'Martin Lewis' has a lot to answer for!.......:|

I am ALWAYS trying to explain this to people!! There are very few small business owners that are rolling in it meaning that generally prices are a fair reflexion of the market value. Also £1.90 for a decent coffee is a bargain!! Haha!

When i was fresh out of college i worked at one of these places, for all of 3 hours then walked out. Did 6 cuts in that time, made them over 100 quid and would have only been paid about 20. Its horrible the managers were pushy as anything, trying to get me to do 9-7, 6 days a week i was like are you having a laugh. Also its like 9 quid for the cut, but if they want straightening or any product you have to charge 1-3 pound extra. Disgusting way of doing business, probs good if you really need the experience of doing cuts quickly but i wasnt prepared to exploit myself for it. No business without demand though :/

I've seen a couple of these and it usually ends up more expensive, 9.50 wash, 9.50 cut, 9.50 blowdry, 9.50 10 foils, etc x
