thats a good tip, i did have two until i sold them at a car boot sale a couple of years back, typical!!

I use natural sponges, put them in boiling water with a few drops of tea tree. The UV sterilisers are ineffective for sponges anyway.

Good luck

Hi Catherine, may I ask why you say they are ineffective. I know UV is not a form of sterilization, but we have to place our sponges on the UV cabinet at college for sanitizing. I would be intetested in your reply, thanks.

hey Mrs C.
you wet the mitts and wring them out, roll them up, pop them into the cabi and leave for 30 mins. when you take 2 out they are steaming hot, and sometimes you have to wave them about a bit to cool them down. I think it depends on how wet they were going in, the wetter the hotter.

I got both of my cabis off ebay for £70 each. One of them has a UV facility, but don't really know what to do with that!

I get my mitts from au naturel, £1 for 2. I bought my original ones from Ellisons and they weren't as good. I have also bought some black luxury flannels and sewed them up (by hand) so they make really long mitts, good for body wrap removal.

It is probably one of my favourite things.

I did try using a food steamer and they are noisy and you can hear the timer clicking down, plus the steam is loud coming out.

This is a true story, and please don't think any less of me........ my mum gave me a food steamer she didn't use anymore. We used it a few times but couldn't get on with it. I cleaned it out, put some drops of essential oils into it and took it into work with me.

I was doing an IHM and had the steamer papping out steam noisily, with the timer clicking constantly, then it donged really loudly as it had come to the end of the time, but still kept on ticking really loudly.

but, by far the worst thing, was the peculiar aroma of POTATOES!!!! I kid you not! I swear I could smell potatoes and cabbage!!!!! Needless to say, I have never used it again!!!!

Hippy Chick, that is hilairous!! I heat my towels up before my client arrives then unplug it. I keep the steamer right by me during facials and take them out as I need them. Works perfectly for me!! xx
