Hi
I was wondering if any of you geeks could help me with my facial range dilemma?

I am opening my home salon in June and have nearly everything but the facial range!

I have researched this loads and just when I think my mind is made up something else comes along or the start up is too expensive.

I've had the Nimue rep out the products are lovely but the start up is a bit out of my price range but I am concerned with the prescription facial costs for home use it seems like a lot of products to purchase for the client any nimue geeks found this is this true?

I've also had the environ rep, again nice stuff it seems like it's a long term treatment to get results as the photos I was shown were from treatments spanning five years but I'm worried about the mineral oil in the products they say it's just in the cleansers any geeks use environ? do you get good results do you retail it well?

Then there's Eve Taylor this looks good affordable and I've spoken to the company it sounds good but do you get results?
I trained in dermologica and really liked their products but find the market is flooded with them.

I've contacted Gerards but again the start up is 2000 minimum order.

can anyone recommend a good affordable reasonably priced skincare range that gives good results?

My budget is between 500 - 800.

I have searched this but cannot find much so sorry if this has been done before

thanks for any advise that is given I really need some opinions

I use Environ and I am hooked for life they are amazing I noticed major results in my skin and my mother's within weeks.

The mineral Oil is in the pre cleansers but gets washed off so there isn't an issue there.

I cannot speak to highly of this range and the repeat business I am getting for my facials is excellent. there is not a skin I have been faced with that I have worried thtey may have a reaction to Environ.

hth's I faced your dilemma 6 months ago and I am enormously grateful to the geek who gave me Environ details

Hi Martigirl

Thanks for your reply I did like the ~Environ range~ but then my rep gave me a couple of samples and I felt a bit oily so it put me off a bit they were the c boost and the first vit A cream I think and then I was talking to another therapist and she advised me that Environ are a progressive treatment the products have to get stronger to see results and it's difficult to get clients to buy the products do you find this?
I would love to hear your opinion as you use the products
thanks

The range is progressive in as much as the Vitamin levels increase with each moisturiser but that isn't relflected in a cost increase. Only when clients move on the the C-Quence range(which I haven't started on yet because you can stay on them for as long as you like) does the cost increase and by then clients love the products so much that it is an investment for which they are happy to pay. Environ retail prices are very similar to Olay and Avon believe it or not I was astounded that they were so reasonable for clients. Prior to this I used A lot of Elemis etc and that is more expensive and in my opinion not nearly as good.

Environ normalises the skin and I have been using it since Nov 06 and my skin has been fantastic, at first I thought it was complicated but in actual fact the beauty is the fact that is isn't at all!! A very simple range to follow, superb training and amazing products:hug:

Hello
I use Jean D'Arcel , which i love. Not too expensive and excllent quality. Their products are fantastic and so is their training.
HTH

I am just taking on board Germaine de Capuccini - the products are fab! Have a lower minimum order tha some too!

Hi Oey, hope you're well! Would be interested to hear how you get on with this range, what is it you like about it? You mention the minimum order, just interested to know roughly what it is? x

hi Geeks
thanks for your replies
can any of the nimue geeks comment on the home care retail for the clients?
is it costly and how do you get round this?
i love what I've seen of nimue but what I'm worried about is that clients won't pay these prices for the retail?
When the rep came out to me i asked her what I would need for my skin and she reeled off about 6 different products each one around 25-30 pounds, I couldn't afford or justify this!!

any Eve Taylor geeks out there want to comment on the skin care . I got some samples today and can't really try them out as they are for dry skin and mine is combination dehydrated!!
do you get results say for acne and problematic skin types?

sorry geeks just one other question Does anyone still use a steamer for their facials??

sorry this has gone on abit

:hug::hug:

Hi Theresa
what is the minimum order with this company?

do you get good results with this company?

I love the Eve Taylor range. I took it on last year and love it. They do a range of more specialised, setting masks to combat problems. I think it is great value and quality products. I swapped from dermalogica and my clients love it! I also always use a steamer, (except v. sensitive skin) hth

If you want information on Nimue you may want to pm Sassy as I know thats what she uses and loves. I'm sure she won't mind.

LMAO I've just stumbled across this thread and was about to reply. You are so right I am a Nimue Nut and have been using it for 2 years now!!! I can't say enough good things about this range, it's bloody wonderful. You get results immediately! After 2 weeks of using it I was asked if I had had a medical facial peel my skin was so clear and bright.

It is not a frilly fluffy pamper range, the products have virtually no smell. The Nimue range is aimed at people who have real problems with their skin and want results and fast, that's what makes it a dermacosemceutical range.

Suzy do not assume that just because you can't afford the range that your clients can't too, that is sooooo the wrong way to go about it and you will never retail effectively if you don't change your mindset. For a start if your clients are serious that they want to improve their skin quality then they WILL pay for it. No ifs or buts, and they sure do. Aim your whole facial regime and prices at the higher price range, if you set them low then you will attract cheap clients who want it all on the cheap and won't want to buy retail at all, no matter what the price is. They'd be happier with their cheap OTC stuff from Superdrug.

However I do find a good way to lead people into the range is to sell the travel kit, and SPF and Exfoliating Enzyme, which before the price rise was about £60, I think it's a bit more now as they have upgraded the travel kit and made the SPF tube larger. Then as their skin goes through the healing crisis and starts to work for itself you start to add in the other products. You don't ever start with them all at once. Then as the items in the travel kit runs out they replace with the larger items.

I am also going to take on the Essential oils range from Academie to have as my pamper facial so i can keep Nimue purely as a results driven product. I am also taking on the Acadayspa range for body treatments.

Let me know if you want any more info.

Dear Suzybaby
I am more of a skin geek than a nail geek. I use two facial ranges - Susan Molyneux and P8N8. I love them both, and they are very different from each other. I will try to explain...
Susan Molyneux is very reasonbly priced, both to use in treatments and to retail and as far as I know, the salon start up cost is in the region of £600 however I think this only includes salon products, I think the retail is extra. Just to give you an example, cleanse tone and moisturise costs about £13 each (to the client) with some products cheaper (facial washes are about £11) and some products more expensive (night creams about £28). They are very nice products to use in treatments as they are aromatic and the results on dry and mature skins are excellent. (this is probably the majority of my client base.) Also their customer service is good and their training is very very good. However, the reason I also have P8N8 is because it offers solutions for more problematic skin, i.e. it is very good for acne and also other skin conditions such as pigmentation. As far as the cost is concerned, I think I spent about £700 on my opening order although I think they do do a 'Bio Express' package for about £150 to get you started although this again does not include any retail stock. With regard to retail stock, it is expensive for clients, i.e cleansers are £37 -£48, toner £42, moisturiser £38 ish. So.... most of my clients have Susan Molyneux facials and homecare but I always wheel out the P8N8 for anyone who has a problem skin or a special occasion coming up. The majority of my clients who use P8N8 are either about to get married and have dark skins where pigmentation and dark circles are a problem.
Although I love both of these ranges and I wouldn't want to be without either of them, my advice to you would be to really consider what you want from your range, for instance...
what is their ingredients policy? do they use mineral oil? lanolin? artificial perfume etc ?
What is their opening order and what do you actually get for that? Do they offer in-house training? What is their minimum ongoing order and how quickly do they deliver?
Also find out what ranges are available in your local area and think about going for something different. There is no point stocking the same brand as the salon in the next street. I would offer something different.
Sorry I have rambled on, have had a glass of wine, but one last thing, you must buy a brand you believe in, as it will be much easier to sell it to clients!
I am new to this site, and I really hope I have helped in some way. Please feel free to ask any questions x

I couldn't agree more with this statement ( except I am sans vino!!!) and was another 2 reasons I went for Nimue.
