Dear Suzy,

I am off on my Environ training on Monday in London. V.Excited! I have been using the products for a couple of months and really rate them. Just a point to consider, to get optimum results with the facials you do need to purchase their Ionzyme machine - over £3 K ! But it makes a massive 4000% difference according to Environ !

Will let you all know how it went.

Hi I choose the Nimue range as well. Sassy is more versed with the range than me as I have only just taken it on. What I will add that I find the products last a long time and that they offer great solutions without having to order endless products. You can treat more varied skin conditions and it WORKS. I looked into Mary Cohr but the list of products were endless! They are simple and practical. Nimue does what it says on the tin. I would also agree that you cannot assume what people will pay to get better looking skin. I did a lot of research to find the best sunscreen for my skin and Nimue is worth every penny and I would buy it even if I did not stock it! I guess it depends what part of the market you are aiming to attract.:)

Could someone help with a contact for supplier of Algologie, I have tried to find a web site but could only find salons who use it. It souds reasonably priced, so would like more info.

The products are distributed by Jica Jica - Beauty - Make up - Nails - Footcare - Skincare. I can thoroughly recommend the products aswell, as we use them in the salon with great results. As already mentioned, their start up costs are very reasonable and they offer an extensive range of treatments for the face as well as the body. There isn't a strict criteria of what you must have like some companies and you don't need to have masses of retail stock sitting on the shelves either.

Although Algologie isn't as widely known over here, it's actually one of the most popular brands in France & can be found in numerous top spas & hotels.

One of the other things I like about Jica is that they won't supply all the surrounding salons with Algologie so you will have some exclusivity.

I used to use a very popular & well known brand in the salon and did so for 15 years. However, our town (small with a population of about 35000) has numerous (about 13!! at the last count) other beauty businesses - either beauty salon; hair & beauty; mobile; home workers and about 5 of these use my previous product house.

What ever product house you decide to go with I would suggest finding out what their views are on how many salons in a certain radius they will supply. At the end of the day, if you all use the same products you're all doing the same treatments, and why be the same? What gives you the edge then on your competitors and how can you get away with charging more (if that's what you want to do).

Think I've gone off question a bit....

Just to point out this is an old thread.

I'm in a similar situation, I'm in two minds with academie and Susan Molynuex.
Help! x

I would check with SM as to how many other therapists in your very local area they already supply, and how many they are likely to in the future. In my experience they seem to saturate the market, like Dermalogica.

Hi suzy and all the other geeks
I made an enquiry into getting the geards skincare range i'm opening a home based salon in a few months, but was bit disappointed to be honest the girl told me its "only for salons and spa's" and the start up is 2k. I assumed from the posts on here they did supply to home based salon, after all they are still salons!! Could someone help.

I have it mobile and just brought it before Christmas so I am surprised by this. They were very understanding about me being mobile. The only thing they said was that they didn't have many mobile due to the start up costs. The products are great and all the marketing is very professional.

Hi Have a look at this product Lydia Daïnow - Switzerland | Skin Essentials | Lydia Dainow
Its being lunched in march in Excel they are great for mobile, home base and small salon and everyone that wants a great product. I have just become the new instructor for the company and im of to switzerland next week, which i cant wait for.
What i have seen and used of the products, they are great and there set up cost it V.good,I would say they are in par with some very good and popular companys.
I have also used susan molyneaux for many years and this to is a great product
My advice is go to Excel if you can and get lots of info and talk to the companys there. also you will come home with lots of freebies ( which is always nice)

Good luck with you choice and your new salon!!!

I Have Worked With Algologie In Salon, And In Doing Training. Without Trying To Plug The Product I Know The Start Up Costs Are Low And Both Mobile And Home Salons Can Use The Products. The Skincare Is Quite New To The Uk But It Is Growing Very Quickly, In Canada It Is The Number 1 Skincare Line And Australia And South Africa The Brand Is Very Big Especially Spas.
