Ive found a gelish course to do at Sally's in just over a week's time.I just had some questions to ask if anyone has any answers that would help me.
Which two popular colours should I buy to take with me?
Which lamp do I buy uv or led? Can't afford harmonys led lamp just yet so I thought I would purchase a cheaper one to start off with.Would that be ok.
Does anyone buy gelish products from any of these sites? Are they genuine products as they are a little cheaper.

Last question Is the mini basix kit ok to start off with?
Thanks for any help:lol:

Hello. I can help a little bit with this. When I first started with Gelish I bought the mini basics kit and it was great. I have since replaced the foundation and top it off and primer but now just use pure acetone for removal and NSI cleanse to remove the dispersion layer only because I really love the smell and it contains the same ingredients as the Gelish cleanser.

As for colours, just buy some that you think you would use during the next few months on yourself and clients, perhaps a bright pink or coral for summer. I would also definitely invest in sheek White and ambience or simpler sheer for a French manicure.

Not sure about the distributors you mentioned but I buy my Gelish from Sally's and the Gelish stand at the trade shows as it's VAT free.

Don't buy your Gelish from these sites. Buy them from the proper distributors, which are Hand and Nail Harmony and also Salon Services (Sally's).

You will need all NH products to do the training, you are not allowed any other branded products on the day.

I would take colours for a french, as well as a dark colour.

Only buy from NH or sallys,
Sallys only stock a few colours but they will order for you any colour from the range, if you do a search if purely polished in here a lot of people have been conned, paid out money & have never received the products ordered x

tutti fruity (pink), rose garden (red) and night reflection (purple) are lovely passion is a lovely coral pinky colour and tiger blossom is gorgeous orange for the summer. night shimmer is good to add thinnly on top of any colour to give matt colours a frosty look and sleek white and ambiance are lovely for french. grand jewels is lovely for a glitter, thin to start with but thickens up after afew uses. hope this helps

Hiya,

I've used Beverly Beaute before and got my starter kit there. They seemed very good to me x

I did my gelish training with my local harmony educator last week and we needed 2 different colours AND french white and pink. Also needed the full harmony kit including files and mundo tool spray and harmony brushes for dry brushing and another brush for french. I took my uv lamp but didnt need it as they had 2 led lamps we borrowed. Xx

Hi

I would only buy from AUTHORISED distributors.. ie hand and nail harmony and sallys.. have also heard bad things about beavelrybeaute.. it wont save you pennies in the long run as someone has already found out to an immense cost.

xxxx

Seems that all your questions have been answered except for one:)

I would defo start off with their UV-lamp. I've been doing gelish for 6 months now and I cant see that I would be any quicker using the LED lamp exept when waiting for the Topitoff to cure on the last hand! I usually use the full two minutes it takes the lamp to cure to polish the other hand so I hardly ever have to wait for the lamp to finish.

Harmony states that you can use any 36W lamp to cure (I got mine of ebay and its great) but they say they cannot guarantee any other LED lamp than their own to cure. So if you want to invest in a LED lamp I would defo save up for their own:) In the meanwhile you can get a normal 36W lamp, they are not expensive:)

Please please dont even consider buying from an unautorised distributer, they're cheaper for a reason! If u read the Gelish uk fb page u will read about terrible mistakes people have made from buying from unauthorisied dealers. I stick to all the Gelish system, some have found pure acetone works for them as a removal but if u check out previous threads on here others have found it can have a negative effect. IMO, for best results stick to authorised distributers and the products they recommend. xx

Gossip Girl is one of the most popular colours I have, with great coverage.
I think it will be great for summer.
Good for layering too.

I love Bellas Vampire, gorgeously dark oh and Good Gossip is another popular one and Samuri and Gossip Girl. Would also take French colours so you can learn the application process.

I see that you are an Essex Girl like me - Hairways in Basildon stock Gelish. Not the full range but enough to get going with. They also have the colours they stock painted onto a nail display so you can get a better idea of what you are buying.
