Maybe it's the angle that you're using your pusher and it's digging in to the nail plate rather than gliding on top of it.

Yes that's probably it Christine as I'm still very inexperienced. It's also a relatively new pusher so still very sharp. I'll give the Tweezerman one a go when it arrives anyway, just to see if there's a difference.

Can any of you more experienced techs recommend a good pushie? I ordered a standard one from beauty express and it has a very sharp end. Many thanks.

If you are heavy handed when either pushing the cuticle back or when using an orangewood stick to remove previous Shellac this can happens.really rub with your lint free pad with scrub fresh even to a squeak.shouldn't have any bits then.c

There are loads of threads on this Geordiehandbag - most people seem to recommend the CND one from S2 (which is the one I'm struggling with), or Tweezerman, or OPI.

hi all just a thought cos i get this problem too but i use Gelish but i dont think it cutilcle or scraped nail because mine are more like tiny bubbles and these other things would be more jagged not round and iv been told its when the layers arent applied thinly enough. i always think its to do with our foundation layer because its not applied in the same way as a normal base coat like with Shellac am i right cos im not Shellac trained ?

did anyone on here solve this problem and what did you do different?

I had that problem a few times to. I thought it was to do with the removal of previous application but I'm not entirely sure.
I'm looking forward to hear from more people.

Anyone find the answer to the above problems??

Would this be related to removing cuticle on the whole nail plate before as well? I watched a video on this saying we should do this for cuticle work and scrape down the nail bed to remove cuticle. So shuold we not be touching this area at all in case cuticle pusher lifts it?
